Pros: keyboard, integrated MMS and SMS, compact, style, PalmOS 5.2.1, integrated Cons: Display quality, no bluetooth or WLAN, camera controls and quality, VZ removed Mail application, heavy
This is my fourth handheld and probably the most useful one I have ever owned. Critics agree that the Treo 600 is a major hit (and much needed) for palmOne. So how good is this highly praised marvel really, and should you run out to get your own? Or ...
Pros: Does a lot in a small package, Palm OS, fast web access Cons: SD Card slot, still akward to carry/have in public/hold to ear.
To appreiciate the Handspring Treo 600, one must be in need of a cell phone AND a Palm PDA. It also helps if you had experience with a Palm before. Both of which describes me best. I hated having to carry a Palm IIIxe with my ...
Pros: Superb design, excellent ergonomics, very small connected PDA, SD/SDIO slot, Cons: No Bluetooth, WiFi or voice / video recording...yet!
You can see an image of this PDA cell phone on my

Pros: compact, small size, all-in-one Cons: some kludginess
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. That's been the story of my life with cell phones, always getting old hand-me-downs from everyone else. This year, for my birthday, my husband decided that I deserved the new technology for once, and needing a new ...
Pros: Great form factor, combines phone-PDA-Internet tool and mp3 player abilities Cons: Very expensive. 160x160 resolution
I am going to assume that anyone reading this review has a general idea of what the Treo 600 is, and most likely currently owns a different model of Smart Phone, or has done some amount of research or played around with Smart Phones in a store, at least. ...
Pros: PDA, Cellphone, Browser, email client, digital phone, all smashed together in about 6 oz. Cons: No bluetooth, no voice command / dial, relatively weak digital camera, expensive.
The Treo 600 IS a cell phone, it is also a PDA, it is also a digital camera, it is also an MP3 player, it is also has a web browser, it also has email, it can send pictures via sms, it can send and receive text messages. It has phone and internet ...
Pros: Small, light, color screen, good features. Cons: Headset jack is non-standard, screen is low resolution.
After carrying around my Treo 600 for 4 months now, I feel I have a pretty good idea of what I'd like to see improved. The hardware: The phone is light and not too bulky although larger than the old Motorola Startac I used for years. The attenae ...
Pros: Convergence. Having a laptop in your pocket is always useful.
Great as an MP3 player. Cons: Expensive. A few design flaws. Headset jack is not standard. Fragile. Battery cannot be replaced.
Yeah, I know there are about 40 reviews on this unit on Epinions, so you must be wondering why I decided to add yet another review on this smartphone when you have probably read the top 3 reviews and decided this is going to be your next toy. Well, ...
Pros: Great phone and data performance, build quality, and integration on phone/PDA features.
Cons: Keyboard difficult to use, for the advanced user, location of handsfree jack, weak vibration mode.
I have owned and reviewed both the prior Treo 180 and 270 smartphones. Both phones, while great on the phone/PDA integration front, ultimately were flawed as cellphones. Now comes the Treo 600. I think PalmOne (Handspring) has finally gotten the ...
Pros: I loved this smartphone when it worked. Compact, useful, everything-I-dreamed of (almost). Cons: "When it worked." String of faulty refurbs sent me back to my old cell.
This was initially written before my experience turned sour. It's been updated, and my initial euphoria has dampened. In June of 2004, I traded my cell phone up--way up. I went from the Samsung A500 to a very brief affair with the Hitachi ...
Pros: Beautiful and sturdy, fantastic reception, good sound Cons: Keyboard and pointer (not stylus) are hard to use, web browser is non-intuitive

Pros: you won't want another phone Cons: some software/features not included
When I bought this device, I knew it would be THE ONE, meaning, it would put my cell phone craze to rest. It hasn't let me down. It's been over 2 months. And the honeymoon continues... I bought the Treo 600 to replace the Samsung i500 I had, namely ...
Pros: It can do everything you want it to and MORE! Cons: A little pricey and slightly bulky.
Let me give a little background before I go full into my review. I have been through numerous cell phones in my short life. This being my fourth "official" Sprint phone. I say "official" meaning that I have used it for more than four days before ...
Pros: Great PDA, Quad-band, good talk/good standby time Cons: poor digital camera quality, expensive
The Treo 600 is a great phone. It's a cell phone, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), and digital camera all-in-one. Don't throw away your other gadgets just yet, at least not before checking with your bank that your account has sufficient funds! You ...

OK I now feel comfortable writing a review for my TREO 600 since i've had it with me for 6 mos. Let me say that prior to using the Treo I was already using a Palm 105 for a couple of years and carried it in my pocket with me or in my briefcase at all ...
I have owned the Sprint version of the Treo 600 for almost 6 months now. I bought it to replace my Sharp Zaurus 5500, which was the most enjoyable PDA I had owned to date. The problem was, I was never really compelled to carry the Zaurus. It was a little ...
Pros: Full featured phone and full featured PDA in one, integrated beautifully. Cons: Screen resolution, camera resolution, battery life, SD card slot design. Very expensive for some.
In the past, I have owned a PalmPilot and Palm Vx in the past. My past mobile phones include the Motorola Startac, Motorola v60t, and Ericsson T226. My main complaints prior to owning the Treo 600 were that I hated carrying both a PDA and a phone. ...
Pros: Best PDA phone, easy to navigate, good battery life. Cons: Not enough software, high price for poorly equiped pda/phone.
If you really want a pda phone, this is the best one out there. But if you ask me, you sure as heck not getting your money's worth. Ok lets talk about the good things about the phone then we can get into the stuff I don't like about the phone. THE ...
Pros: Well integrated, convenient, intuitive. All you need in a small package. Cons: Low-res screen, no cradle included. Earpiece static, "crackling".
I purchased the Treo 600 to resolve the awkwardness of carrying both a Palm Tungsten T2 and a Nokia phone at all times. Before my T2, I had used the organizer features in my phone to organize my life. After purchasing a T2, I found I didn't have it on ...
Pros: great Wow factor, good looks, sturdy construction, good phone reception, excellent 5-button navigation features Cons: expensive, useless digital camera, no blue-tooth, entry level screen, a bit heavy
I got the Treo 600 in mid-December 2003 and have been thrilled with the purchase. Yes, the screen is terrible, but the convenience factor is awesome. In fact, I am using it as a wireless phone modem to write this review on my laptop. As such, I can ...
Pros: Convenient Palm OS integration Cons: Terribly small keyboard, non-intuitive keys, no predictive spelling
11/05 Update - Buy insurance My antenna broke off and got lost. Apparently Palm doesn't see a need to provide replacement antennas. This is really really lame. A friend's solution is to never buy a device with an antenna. That's an interesting ...
Pros: Beautiful Design, Sturdy Construction, Small Size, Highly Functional Cons: Screen resolution, Tiny Keyboard, Useless Camera
I just received my Treo 600 yesterday so this review is based on only using it for a day or so. I was an early adopter when Handspring first came out with their Treo PDA's and liked the product but as one of the other reviewers mentioned, Handspring' ...
Pros: GSM Version Has Quad Band. You can make almost anything work with palm. Cons: Camera isn't hot, but then again you didn't purchase this for the camera did you?
I'm writing this based upon the GSM (Global System for Mobiles) version. The GSM version comes off as virtually flawless in function. The only major impact would be on your wireless provider's coverage. The GSM version has Quad Band coverage which helps ...
Pros: Almost perfect size, great phone, good pda Cons: Mediocre camera, lo-res screen, slippery
I've had my Treo 600 GSM phone/Palm PDA combo for about two weeks now and I really like it! I was skeptical at first as I think all the PocketPC/phone combos suck (as if it's possible to look any nerdier than with a full size PDA stuck to your ear ). ...
Pros: See the main review body for all pros and cons information. Cons: See the main review body for all pros and cons information.
I purchased this phone the minute it came out! I had a Samsumg i300 previously but returned that unit for several reasons. 1) It was too bulky. 2) Almost everything you did was touchscreen which is just begging to be broken! 3) It had poor ...
Pros: All in one, nice size, easy to use, really works in all functions. Cons: Worthless camera, exposed screen, a little husky, missing software
I get every new thing. It's my disorder, but I like it, and thanks to Ebay I can buy and sell this stuff as fast as the next best thing comes out. Treo 600 is the next best thing, by a quantum leap. It is the most mature and elegant smartphone in ...
Pros: Excellent styling, talk time, extremely bright screen, email, size and weight, and Palm features. Cons: Earlier models poor, 4th newer PalmOne model has been working great.
I have had mobile phones since 1981 when they first came out. Before this phone I was using a Nokia phone and Palm Tungsten. Bought this phone in December from AT & T Wireless. It worked great until the middle of February when the sound went out and I ...
Pros: Small, lightweight (for a PDA), decent MP3 player Cons: Horrible EMI electromagnetic interference - can't be placed near computer speakers or near car dashboard
This phone is truly amazing, but clearly not perfect. Somehow they managed to cram in lots of features into a tiny package. Unfortunately, they somehow managed to mess up when it comes to electromagnetic interference. I have had the Treo 600 with ...
Pros: Good concept--IF it worked Cons: Terrible customer service, disorganized, uninformed, and indifferent technical support.
A great phone IF it worked as advertised. I had too many quality and technical issues to list, including a defective SD slot, the inability to use the device for email and WWW access as I was able to on my Treo 270, constant crashing when using my ...
Pros: Great design, powerful, stylish, extremely useful Cons: Price is high with add-ons and software, can't dial while driving, Camera inconsequential
I wanted a device which would be a phone and PDA - allowing me to jettison my current two devices - and add web/email access, color screen and storage capabilities. Since an MP3 player was on my list for Christmas, I wanted that too. The Treo 600 did all ...
Pros: Does a little bit of everything, relatively small, good battery life Cons: Does nothing exceptionally well, lo-res screen, no bluetooth or 802.11
I've been playing around with the Treo 600 for a few months now and I can safely say that it is the best smartphone out there. The catch: smartphones are still young and underdeveloped. If a model is strong in one point, it's unforgivably weak in ...
Pros: Good design, integration, size; lots of promise in the concept Cons: Terrible audio quality; constant buzzing; phone answers itself in your pocket
As an early adopter, I jumped at a chance to buy a Treo 600 (GSM version, ATT). And when I received it, I was in heaven. Here was an integrated PDA that wasn't overly large, with a pleasant form factor and lots of nice small touches. My only ...
Pros: Easy to use rocker device, Photo Caller ID, faster data, better phone
Cons: Camera Low res, no graffiti
I've used a Palm PDA since they came out, and it is now indispensable for me. The Treo 600 makes my job even easier. I upgraded from a Treo 300. The 600 solves many of the annoyances the 300 had... The phone reception is now top quality (on Sprint), ...
Pros: sleek, high tech, multipurpose, clear phone, clear screen Cons: doesn't measure up to individual cell phone, digital camera, mp3 player and PDA equivalents
Pretty but not too bright. Sleek and high-tech gadget that doesn't measure up to it's individual cell phone, digital camera, mp3 player, email/internet and PDA equivalents. Keyboard is way too small and no graffiti alternative. That being said, it's ...
Pros: Too many to list. Features are all great...nice converged device. Cons: In my experience, Sprint can't support the phone due to the limited supply in stores.
Framing note about my review: There are many places that provide a detailed review of the Treo 600 so I'm going to provide my experience and lessons learned to be as helpful as possible in your decision-making process. In addition, I limit my comments to ...
Pros: size, keyboard, PALM OS, speaker phone Cons: Email transfer not reliable; Poor phone

Pros: Great phone - does every thing they said it would do. Cons: It cannot receive calls - guess that is a problem.
I ordered a Treo 600 from Handspring three days after they went live with their offering for Sprint customers. It came a few days later and it is pretty cool. Except I discovered mine reboots when it receives a call. No, you don't get to answer it. We ...
Pros: You can do everything on this one device. Functionality is incredible. Cons: Short changed on the accessories. Case is useless, no cradle included.
The Treo 600 is fantastic, there is no doubt. The functionality within this converged device is better than anything else out there at the moment; to carry around an MP3 player, audiobooks, email client, web browser, phone, handheld games console (e.g. ...
Pros: Cool factor Great concept Screen OK Some software is worthwhile. Cons: Camera resolution very poor inside outside. Phone works sporadically- could be Cingular. Serious software glitches.
I have used my Treo 600 since January. The telephone does not work consistently. When the Treo rings it created so much interference on my landline phone and through my computer speakers that I had to keep the Treo turned off when I was in the ...
Pros: Phone, camera, and web work fine Cons: Data fee alone is $49.95/month with Verizon Wireless.
Well, as an early adapter, I guess I should be used to taking it hard. I bought Verizon's PalmOne Treo 600 the first day it came out - over a year after all of the other major cell-phone carriers released it. My plan is 400 anytime minutes, unlimited ...
Pros: Converged, small, trendy, colorful Cons: Palm OS (I'm a tech-idiot), poor internet capabilities
I am a sucker, what can I say. I sucker for anything that takes batteries (no mom, not those). Especially those that ring and surf the net. Bring in the clowns.... I wanted a device that could surf the net at decent speeds, that could tether to my ...
Pros: awesome functionality - this phone is an "everything box" Cons: A poorly made product with no customer support
This phone is awesome - I wish the resolution was better than 160x160 or whatever it is. But functionally it rocks. It however is built like garbage. Our company bought three NEW phones and two of them broke in the first 2 weeks. One developed a ...

Not enough quality for the price! by darrenh ,Jul 09 '04
Pros: Good PDA...That's about it! Cons: Bad Camera, Speaker phone, reception and customer service from PalmOne!
The treo is a good PDA, but not a good phone. I get complaints from people I talk to about noises. My receiver has stopped working and now I have to use the speaker phone (which sounds horrible) or an ear piece! I contacted PalmOne about it and they sent me a refurbished phone!!!! I was not happy about that. When I received the refurbished phone I attempted to load my info from my old phone and the new phone started reseting itself continuously and would not stop!!! Now I am having a hard time finding someone at PalmOne who can help with this issue!!! Finally go in contact with Corporate Headquaters at PalmOne and they informed me that they do not issue new phones and they will continue to send refurbished phones until I received one that worked...So, basically I am supposed to be inconvenienced until they get it right! I just hope that the new Treo 610 has less defects than the current 600!
Pros: Best combination PDA/Phone on the market today Cons: expensive -- but the added mobile productivity justifies the price
The recently released (10/03) Treo 600 is the best hybrid PDA/Phone on the market today. Easy to set up and transfer data from older Palm devices. Business Connection service allows instant and real time access to office desktop. After only a few days of use, I am listening to mp3 files (great digital sound), playing chess, checking office and home e-mail, searching the web, and trading stocks with Schwab -- all in a small, easy to use device.
A loyal Kyocera 6035 Smartphone user, this was the upgrade I have been looking for. Strongly recommended.
Pros: Small size, access to POP mail, mobile internet Cons: Fast battery consumption if you are using the phone, internet and email.
I have owned several Nokia phones and PDA's such as the Mobilon, Cassiopia, Clie, Palm Tungsten W, etc. and the Treo 600 is the ultimate convergence device. The phone software is excellent and the other features are fantastic. The ultimate device for the road warrior.
If you are a heavy user,be warned that this unit is a heavy consumer of battery power. One charge would barely last me the day (when using the phone and email).Fortunately, accessories such as the car charger and travel charger from the Treo 270/300 work on this unit. I purchased an extra travel charger, USB charger/sync cable and car charger, to keep the battery always fully charged.
There are some weaknesses with the Treo 600. The Screen is hard to see in bright daylight. Fast battery consumption. The GPRS connection is always on and can only be turned off by turning off the wireless mode. The GPRS connection contributes to increased battery consumption
Finally!! This is the best invention of the DECADE by rockstarnerd ,Jun 11 '04
Pros: Small, great keyboard, shiny silver, e-mail, web, LONG BATTERY LIFE, easy-to-use Cons: less-than-great screen resolution, way too sexy for a nerd like me
I'm an early adopter but I refused to use a PDA until it was well integrated into a useable phone. I tried some WinCE machines but they all sucked. I bought the treo 270 was addicted within hours despite it's design flaws. The next day I looked at the treo 600 and realized that they had fixed every single problem. I ordered one that day.
I waited 2.5 months for the thing and once I got it, I realized it was worth every second. I use it all the time for everything. The T-mobile (GSM) version gets 6 hours of talk time!!! Plus, unlimited internet is only 19.99 extra per month. I get my e-mail, take pictures, I have all my Outlook/Palm contacts right in my phone. AND, it works all over the world because it's a world phone.
Bravo PalmOne/Handspring, you've finally won me over!
Not what I thought it would be by emnem ,Jan 21 '04
Pros: Compact, color, multi functional Cons: Poor camera quality, unable to write graffiti
I purchased this phone yesterday and returned it today. It sounded good when I read the features on it, but when I charged it up and played with it, it wasn't what I thought it would be. First off, the camera picture quality was less than desirable. Granted, how often are you going to take pictures with this device? Get a real digital camera for pictures. Second, and this was the kicker for me, you only have the option to write text with the keypad. There is no option to write graffiti. I can write with a stylus much faster than I can do a one handed button punch. I new immediately for me, this was going to slow down productivity. I'm sure there will eventually be some new devices that rival this one, in terms of functionality and performance. For now, I'll stick with my old Samsung i300
Sent my Treo 600 back after 2 days by gwm247 ,Apr 30 '04
Pros: Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Cons: Keypad small, poor antenna, awful camera, no voice activated dialing, Heavy, BIG and BULKY.
Beautiful piece of equipment but too many shortcomings. NO VOICE ACTIVATED DIALING....do you hear me palm/handspring? How on earth are we to dial while driving? or walking along for that matter. Speed dialing with selecting a pre-configured key? You must be kidding. First touch the phone button (too small and awkward) then deactivate "key lock" from the toooooooo small five way pad. Feeling lucky enough to press the tiny center button? If not you're ready to take a picture (key pad right) with the grainy "camera" (1990's resolution). Should you manage to dial with one hand your next hurdle is the connection. The antenna is one of the worst so far. Once connected this phone ROCKS, not like the kids mean but it rocks against you face as in concave. Not the best design but it sure looks pretty in the box. This phone can't make up it's mind weather it's a camera (LOL), gameboy (who has the time), finger paralizer (painful), cutsie chime (embarrassing), organizer (been there have that) or lastly a phone. Will you Treo, ain't no phone.
Pros: Small, keyboard, reception, screen, internet, all-in-one Cons: Tiresome to convert video files to acceptable format
I've switched phones many times over the years but none has impressed me like this one. I need access to the internet during my lunch hour which is something my job does not provide (for security reasons) and needed a phone and company that could provide it. Sprint is the only company that gives you unlimited internet access for a mere $15. The others want you to buy a data plan and hope you don't go over it or pay about $70 for unlimited access ON TOP OF your voice plan charges. Crazy. So anyway signing a new 2 year agreement with Sprint to get a $200 discount on the phone was well worth it, as I've already had them a year using the Samsung I300 and I300. The reception on those 2 phones was horrible in certain places. So far the Treo has acquired a great signal no matter where I've been. The functionality is now almost legendary among those who follow the pda/phone scene and with good reason.
Careful: Lots of lemon out there! by drabelais ,Feb 02 '04
Pros: If it works consistently, awesome technology. Cons: Brakes easily.
Mine and my friends both broke in the first week (without even dropping it). It's especially annoying since with converged technologies, you loose the functionnality of more than more device (PDA, phone, camera...). Thumbs down for Handspring. This phone obviously isn't properly engineered for durability.
Pros: Very convenient. Cons: Quality control. Ear speaker has shorted out. Car charger and ear bud are horrible.
I love the idea of a combination phone and PDA. I had two Treo 300's. On the first one, the flip phone broke off. Bought another one and after a couple of months, started having a short in the flip phone earset.
Bought the Treo 600 since there's no flip to flop. Have had it about 5 months and . . . the ear speaker is shorting out.
I'm not hard on phones, never had problems before. Oh, and the car charger pointy thing collapsed and shorted my cigarette lighter. Oh, and the ear bud has terrible sound. Went to order a replacement car charger and . . . they're backordered. (Think other people having the same problem.)
Haven't looked hard at other reviews, but I think the quality control is lacking.
Would be great if reliable by realbrick ,Oct 26 '03
Pros: Great in every way, except one. Cons: Phone is unreliable - can't hear the other party, period, 1/3 the time.
I love this phone for all of the reasons I'm sure you already have heard expressed by others. The problem is that about 1/3 a time I get a call, even if I've got great reception, I won't be able to hear the caller at all, and they can hear me perfectly.
To be clear, I can't hear anything - no white noise, no cutting in and out, nothing. This happens on outgoing calls as well - I won't even hear them ring, and then, suddenly, I hear everything clearly - anywhere from 30 seconds to one minute into the call. Clearly the problem is that for some reason, the speaker doesn't kick in at first. (Example - I know when a call I'm making will have this problem, because it doesn't even play the key tones through the earpiece as I dial - something this phone normally does when dialing.) I can only assume my particular phone is faulty. Anyone else had this problem?
Incredible Technology and a much better product than the Treo 300. by maizlish ,Oct 13 '03
Pros: Sturdier build than the 300, no cheap plastic feel, or flip. Cons: Keyboard is slightly smaller, tougher to use for the fat fingered user.
Just upgraded from the Treo 300, which I broke three of them in less than a year. (Flimsy Flip) The 600 is smaller, sleeker, and the thumb button cuts out many steps from its predecessor. A must have. I totally forgot abut the stylus because you do not need to use it.
I'm easily impressed, but wasn't by jasonrit ,Nov 16 '04
Pros: Great reception. Cons: Camera is worthless, unit is fragile, non-intuitive software.
I'm really sorry I bought this, although it does place very very clear, crisp telephone calls.
My first unit was defective. Originally, Handspring suggested it was my service provider. When the unit finally failed, it was clear that the Treo was at fault-- the earpiece speaker had failed. Then, Treo would not exchange the unit even though it was only 2 days out of warranty!
The camera has little value. Even on a clear, bright, beautiful day, the pictures look terrible. I don't know why they bothered to put a camera on this.
The software utilities do not integrate well together. For example, the web, phone, SMS, and notes all use a separate address book.
The unit is extremely fragile. When I had taken it back for an exchange, the CSR accidentally broke the screen by just picking it up from the counter.
Good, but web browser is disappointing by ktkt86 ,Mar 20 '04
Pros: small size for a pda Cons: weak web browser, small keyboard is awkward
I bought the Treo 600 because of its much-touted ability to access any web site on the fly through its built-in Blaser web browser. Unfortunately, its actual performance did not live up to expectations. Many of the web sites I want to access are password-protected and it was not able to access a single one of those web sites. I was able to access the regular Yahoo! web site through the phone, but it took several minutes for the page to download over the Sprint PCS network. I then tried to access several WAP sites, but only received error messages through Blazer. As a last-ditch attempt to make use of this phone, I downloaded JBrowser (a WAP browser) from handango.com, but it would not run properly on the new Palm OS. I finally ended up returning this phone. Very disappointing.
Great potential, phone reception horrible by chsanch ,Jun 10 '04
Pros: Great potential, versatile Cons: Phone reception bad, customer support worse
I purchased my Treo (ATT provider) in December. It is versatile and has the potential to be a great tool.
However, the phone reception has always been iffy such that I returned my first Treo because I thought it was defective but realized the phone reception was just bad, much to my chagrin. Now, I just applied the new OS update (1.13) and the phone is unusable as well as the applications.
Pros: Right size, usable key board, back light = usability outside Cons: Low res screen, bad software compatability, low res camera
Now that the newness has worn off
Great Form factor
Usable keyboard
Low resolution
Software compatability issues
Lots of products don't support rocker switch,
some products don't work at all
Camera to low res (.33 m-pixel) to be useful
Pros: It is a great converging device, better than anything out there. Cons: Wi-fi not ready.
The new Treo 600 is a great product. It is the ultimate single device for pager, messaging, email, web, and cellphone all in one. The PDA itself is many times faster than the Treo 300, and the screen is also much brighter. I ran my Rcopia from DrFirst for writing electronic prescription and charge capture without any compatibility problem. I loaded all patient data (upto 30k patients) very quickly. It is just a wonderful device for doctors who are already familiar with ePocrates. JC
