Pros: Healthy, works great, fast! Cons: Filter's a little difficult to clean, it does come with a helpful cleaning brush included.
Now I'm one of those people who knows all of the TV infomercials by heart but is to skeptical to actually take the plunge and purchase. I had a moment of weakness one day, a day when I was feeling like a wannabee health nut. I broke down and ordered ...
Pros: Easy to use/Maximum juice output/Juice is smooth and frothy Cons: Expensive/A pain to clean
The Jack LaLanne Power Juicer is terrific. I use mine almost every day. It's easy and I like how I can put most fruit in whole without having to cut or peel. Apples, kiwi, grapes with or without seeds, and strawberries are just a few. ...
Pros: Easy to use. Very quiet. Will juice just about anything! Tastes great! Cons: Chute needs to be a little larger for the larger sized apples.
This is absolutely an awesome juicer! I used to own an Oster juicer. It did fine. It took a lot of carrots to get a glass of juice -- I had more pulp than juice. And the noise? Loud doesn't describe it. This juicer? Far more juice and far less ...
Pros: It's so quiet and extracts a lot of juice. Fairly easy to clean. Cons: The pulp catcher is very loose and just doesn't seem to fit.
I've only owned one other juicer in my life and that was a disaster in the 80's. I waited a long long time before I found one that fit all my needs--and the Jack Lalanne juicer is it. I love the quiet hum it makes when I turn it on and the smell of ...
Pros: Quiet Operation, Maximum Juicing, Less Effort, Durable Construction, Heavy Duty, Fast, Convenient, Easy To Use. Cons: It doesn't wash itself. *kidding* Disadvantage: needs more accessories available. Thats it!
There have been many juicers in my kitchen. I've had the gamut: Juiceman, Breville, Sunbeam, Black & Decker, and more that's in too distant of memory. The first thing that I noticed was the quiet operation. Almost all juicers I've had before sound ...
Pros: Good motor, good design, makes fresh juice. Cons: Food shoot is still too small, juice has a lot of particulate matter.
This is the Jack LaLanne power juicer called a centrifuge juicer. The Jack LaLanne power juicer first grinds the fruit/vegetable into pulp, then is spins the pulp around forcing the liquid and smallest particles through a mesh, then the Jack LaLanne ...
Pros: Easy to use, and lots of fun. The juice taste great. Cons: May not extract all the juice depending on the fruit used.
I have been house sitting for my parents as they went out on a 2 week cruise to Alaska. One of the appliances my father has in the kitchen is Jack La Lanne’s Power Juicer. My wife and I had to take advantage and use this baby while we’re at ...
Pros: The pulp that comes out is truly dry. Cleaning is very easy and simple. Cons: So far, no negative comments, it works well.
I had previously bought a juicer, so I was used to juicing, but I was not impressed by the time it took me to 'prepare' the food before juicing. When it broke down, I did not replace it. A few months later, on numerous occasions I saw the ...
Pros: Stylish, strong material, large chute, very easy cleaning, takes whole fruits, quiet. Cons: Rumbles with whole fruits, Spinning grill clogs after a 2 person serving.
I purchased the machine last week and I have to say it's a beauty : it's big, stylish and made out of strong enough plastic material. The spinning centrifuge grill is very large and allows very easy clean-up with the brush. The rest of the machine cleans ...
Pros: Produces lots of juice, motor quiet, requires little effort in applying pressure. Cons: Clogs easily, have to move fast to stop the rumble, must handle blade very carefully!
I was given a power juicer 2 days ago and I am amazed. In the beginning, I was shocked with the rumble when a piece of fruit hits the bottom. Its like you have to move at turbo speed to make sure you apply enough pressure! I was pleased with the texture ...
Pros: Easy to use, easy to clean and very attractive design. Cons: Heavy, the unit can be difficult to store in your cabinets
First the power. I have never owned a juicer that has the power of the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer. I have crammed whole apples, carrots, celery, radish, turnips and beets through this juicer and the motor didn't fade one bit. Anyone who has ever used a ...
Pros: Does make great juice Cons: Pain to clean, not as easy as shown on tv
I like juice. I don't like the price of fresh squeezed juice at a juice bar. So, for the same reasons I got an espresso maker (it paid for itself in three months of not going to Starbucks) I decided to get a juicer. I learned from friends that the ...
Pros: Large opening, quiet operation Cons: Too big, splashes juice, waste container keeps coming off, not so easy to clean.
I saw this juicer on TV and of course it looked great, easy to use and clean. I needed a juicer for every day use, mostly vegetable juice. So when I saw it in the store, I immediately purchased it. When I got home and tried it out - I was disappointed. ...
Pros: The Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer arrived quickly even though it was Christmas time. Cons: JLPJ chute isn't bigger and amount of juice was 35% less than Hamilton-Beach.
First of all, they offered to upgrade my Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer model if I paid the entire purchase in one payment. They sent the basic model and when I called them I was given a story. Finally I was promised they would return ...
Great Machine.....Worth the Investment! by thomase ,Mar 31 '06
Pros: Easy to use; dependable; sturdy construction; fast; silent; nice design; Cons: takes a few minutes to clean up but really no problem
This juicer is just fantastic! It is the first one I have ever owned and I am in no way disappointed. It is constructed with sturdy materials, looks great and operates flawlessly. I am enjoying experimenting with different combinations of fruits and vegetables to come up with some outstanding juice blends. I know the health benefits alone make this worthwhile.
Yes, you need to clean the machine immediately after using it but you can enjoy your juice as you rinse off and dry the various parts.....it is painless and takes just 5 minutes of your time.
My three year old daughter absolutely loves the juices that we make....she says "oh, delicious, delicious !!" I like the fact that the juices are so nutricious.
Have I told you lately, I love my juicer? by oggdog ,Jan 10 '05
Pros: Opening allows for juicing larger pieces of fruit, which is a big time saver. Cons: I cannot find any cons with this juicer.
I love this juicer. I like the idea of juicing fruit with the peel on, so as to get more nutrients. I have also used the leftover pulp from pears and followed the recipe (included) to make muffins. They were delicious! It is worth the extra time it takes to clean and re-assemble the juicer.
Thrilled with my thrift store find! by fredshoney ,Jul 29 '04
Pros: Maximum juice output, quiet, effienct Cons: as with any juicer, cleaning!
I had a Jucieman Jr. and liked it just fine, but knew I wanted a more powerful appliance. Keeping my eye open while thrifting one day, I came across my new Jack LeLanne Power Juicer for a basement bargin price of $55.00!!! What a steal, brand new, never unpacked, still in the box. Someone above was watching out for me that day.
When I got my treasure find home, I went right to work, being a seasoned juicer! I made "Salad in a Glass" from the recipe book and it was great! I am thrilled with my new juicer and even more thrilled that I got it at such a steal!
As with most juicers, its not the easiest to clean, but that is a small price to pay for improved health!
Pros: The big chute, the powerful motor, the big chute, it's quiet, it's EASY to clean. Cons: My only real complaint, the spout is drippy. However, EASY to clean, (read full review)
I've been through at least six juicers; none of the motors lasted more than nine months. I've owned my Jack Lalanne juicer for about three years and I still think it's awesome. It's better than commercial juicers I've used that cost lots more! In this price range, it is absolutely the best juicer around:) As far as cleaning goes: if you have a spray-type hose at your sink, just spray the strainer full-force from the OUTSIDE, then lightly scrub the inside with a brush, rinse and stick it in the bottom rack of your dishwasher. If you don't have a dishwasher, you might have to spray and scrub a couple of times, but the whole process doesn't take more than a minute! I also soak some of the pieces in a mild bleach bath once in awhile and they are still as white as the day they arrived! I agree a stainless steel version would be great!
Best Juicer I ever bought by jacynthann ,Nov 10 '04
Pros: Great tasting juice. No muss, no fuss with chopping veggies. Cons: Would be nice if it had a splatter screen over the spout.
I've had 4 juicers in my life and this is, by far, the best. The quality of juice is outstanding and easily compares to more expensive juicers. It's easily takes whole vegetables, including small apples. It's quick and easy to assembly and disassemble. The strainer cleans easily. We use this juicer twice a day and it's a workhorse.
I have been juicing before juicing was ever popular. About 25 years ago I bought my first juicer. This is a great juicer for the price. I have owned 6 juicers.
My Other Juicer Is A Champion by admiralbird55 ,Jun 21 '06
Pros: Extracts a lot of juice, cleaning not a problem. Cons: Plastic construction. I prefer thicker, heavier, less brittle plastic material.
We just purchased the Costco model and have used it now about 10 times. We love this machine. Contrary to the main review, I do not think it is difficult to clean. Most of it just rinses clean, and we lightly scrub the blade to remove any pulp stuck there. (Do not scrub against the cutter, go "with the grain".) The fine metal filter does take careful and gentle brushing. Mostly rinsing, but lightly brushing with our kitchen sink brush. Dab it dry with a towel, and air dry on the counter.
Although I love our Champion Juicer, the professional version we have had over 25 years and is still perfect, Jack's model produces a noticeably greater amount of juice and is easier to clean.
Pros: Lots of juice extracted from very little fruit. Quiet operation Cons: Can be a bit of a pain to clean, same with all juicers though
My Wife and I bought our juicer in England at the John Lewis store. I had previously seen it in action on the QVC shopping channel and had wanted one. All i can say is what a great purchase, it may be pricey but its worth it for the added benefits of having more fruit and Veg in your diet. Before i bought the juicer i hardly touched fruit at all, now i'm always down the greengrocers. If your thinking about purchasing don't delay. As my wife and i say 'All of the goodness with none of the eating'
Jack Lalanne Power Juicer by birdmannn ,May 26 '05
Pros: Good juice, tasty froth, light, plastic bag catch. Cons: Spout will splater if fruit is pushed to fast.
This is my third juicer and by far the easiest to clean.
I bought a Champion juicer 14 years ago and it still runs
great, but is more difficult to take apart to clean. My
other juicer is a Salton Vitamin Bar II, a compact model that I take to work, it is fairly easy to clean and totally
self contained. I get some weird looks when I take it into the mens room to use the sink to clean it after use at work, but juicing at work gives me a great deal of energy and relives tons of stress rapidly.
Am amazed that the Jack LaLanne juicer works so well with only 250 watts of power, hope it holds up in the long run!
Pros: Amazingly quiet.
Easy to clean.
Not that expensive.
Cons: Could have included a brush to clean the parts.
I saw this product on TV. I was skeptical at first but was surprised to find it on the shelves of Costco.
I started shopping around and pretty much found many stores (Bed Bath & Beyond where I eventually bought) carrying it for $99.99. I had a BB&B coupon (20% off) and finally bought it.
It was fully assembled and ready to use.
I decided to try the carrot, apple and ginger juice that was listed in the recipe book. Yes, I had to cut the apple into four smaller pieces. If anyone had thought they could shove a pineapple or a watermelon into the juicer, come on, be practical.
I was amazed at the quietness of the motor.
I read a review that put the cleaning time to be around 5 minutes. Removing the blade does not take more than 5 seconds. I decided to wash all the parts myself and was able to clean them under running water in less than 3 minutes. For cleaning the plastic parts which came into contact with the juice, I used Scotch Brite - the yellow sponge side only. Just for removing and cleaning the metal parts, it hardly took a minute.
Pros: Great for fast everyday juicing. Cons: Not good for juicing berries or greens.
Out of the four juicers I own, I find this one the easiest to use. I own the Juiceman, the Green Power and the Hamilton Beech, along with the Jack Lalanne.
I would by far recommend the Jack Lalanne juicer over any of the others for everyday juicing. The biggest plus for it is you don't have to cut all your vegetables to little slices. I put 4 carrots at a time into it, whole apples (if they are the small ones. Whole cucumbers, you get the idea.
Clean up is also very easy compared to the others. If you are looking for your first juicer this is the one you want
Pros: Works well on the fruits and vegetables I juice. Cons: Nothing in particular.
Bought one on eBay that lacked lost crescent tool. FYI, for a replacement I took a hitch pin clip/spring-type cotter pin 1/8" x 4" and straightened it to about 8" using vice grips and a vice. Bent it to a crescent shape to fit holes 3-7/8" apart. Another fix would be to get a 1/8" x 36" steel rod from a hardware store ($2), cut off an 8" piece and shape it.
Pros: Mom says it works great! Cons: It may be dirty. :(
My mom ordered the juicer off the tv. The deal was you get 2 juicers for (can't remember). Well, she received the juicers and she got a white juicer and a steel one. I was going to purchase the steel from her because it matched my kitchen. I pulled the thing out of the box and it was used, it still had crusted fruit pieces on it. It was nasty!!! So we called and the rep apologized profusely, he sent us a shipping label and we sent it back and told them we wanted a new one. Well, we never got it. They did however refund the monies for the stainless steel. So, I think they sell these things used. I will never order anything from that company. Why would you want a used juicer. You just don't know what people are into and what they could be juicing. It's just nasty to think of, yuck! Go to the store and purchase the juicer you don't have to pay shipping and handling.
Finally, be careful of the tv ads that promise you everything for a little of nothing.
Pros: worked nice for fruits, did get juice without the pulp Cons: motor did not last.
Bought the Jack Lalane juicer a couple of years ago, and it worked great for the 1st year. Used it today after not using it for months and the motor died. It seems that if you pay a good price , that the motor would last for more than 2 years. ONly used it for fruits, did not use it for vegatables, so the motor should have lasted longer. I would not buy another one, since there are other less expensive models out on the market.
motor isn't as strong as I thought by mateobetanzos ,Nov 17 '05
Pros: easy to use, small enough, extracts almost all the juice Cons: motor is burned, poor customer service
I am not easily tricked into buying anything from television but this time I went in and bought my power juicer. I loved it for my first two months, but after using it for 6 times while juicing carrots and apples, my motor was not as strong as I thought so it burned and it no longer works and can not get it contact with a representative. I will keep posting what happened with the customer service and wait to see if they answer me back. Do not get me wrong I still love my power juicer but it does not work.
It worked OK for a couple of weeks and then.... by fowler1947 ,Dec 18 '08
Pros: Compact and does not take up all your counter space. Cons: Spout too small, stopped working, hard too clean.
The juice spout is too small and if you use the tray under the juicer the juice drips outside the pitcher. We stopped using the tray and it worked better. Then after using the machine for about two weeks once a day the machine just stopped. Now sending it back and probably for a refund not an exchange. Very disappointed.
Pros: inexpensive Cons: Weak motor; no accessories; pain to clean; spout is too low
Not a very good juicer. Plus, you can tell the company doesn't care about the consumer. It took me 3 months before I finally used the juicer. After one time I wanted to return it but I was too late. In my business I would have taken it back. There are no attachments really and it is a pain to unscrew the blade to clean out the machine. In fact, cleaning these things alone makes me not want them. To stick it in the dishwasher everyday means you can't use it but once a day. To wash by hand is a pain. As for the spout, this is really idiotic. It is so low that dispensing any juice into anything but a very small glass is impossible. Do a quick review and you will find so many better juicers. If you want cheap, then don;t even bother paying for any of them. It will just be a waste of money. You need to buy quality.
Pros: I bought it at Dilliards and saved the $40 shipping charge Cons: not the juicer they claim it to be and not worth the money
i bought power juicer and was mostly disappointed. comparing it to the infomercial 1. not as powerful as the ad says, juiceman jr was just as powerful 2.opening was a good size but you better use very small apples, pears etc. because you have to cut up normal sized fruit 3. big and bulky not an easy cleanup and can be very messy if you dont watch what your doing. The mesh strainer was very cheap and holes were punched in it in a short time. I had a juiceman jr. for about 3 years prior and never had a problem with the strainer. Called them up on there customer service # and they wanted to sell me a new strainer but it had no warranty since i bought at a dept. store and not directly from them. Lastly their promoting 30% more extraction dont beleive it I could squeze juice out of the pulp with my hands.
Horrible company & customer service by lisaj92169 ,Oct 11 '06
Pros: I don't see any pros for this product Cons: Doesn't work like promised and customer service is very rude and don't seem to care.
I purchased this juicer and the very first day it did not work correctly. When I called to complain, they were very rude and argued with me. Then they put me on hold and never came back. I am sending this juicer back today and that is not soon enough. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! BUY THE JUICEMAN INSTEAD
Pros: No Pros. I only liked the recipes, which I'm going to use with my blender. Cons: All. Read my review and you'll see why I didn't like it.
I had to return the Jack Lalanne Juicer. Every time used it, I re-juiced the pulp and I got almost half a cup of juice. The infomercial only shows the pulp from its container but the pulp from the actual juicer is has all the juice.NOT true, you do have to cut up apples. I'm going back to my VitaMix blender.Too bulky and too many parts to wash. You better not lose the spare part to tighten the blade! SHARP.And why would I want to make muffins (with the pulp) if I want to lose weight.
Pros: Don't know. Without the blade it doesn't work. Cons: Terrible customer service. They don't take responsibility for their faulty product.
I received the juicer as a going away present. I open it up and its missing the blade (a component critical to the juicer's functioning). So I call the customer service (which involves listening to a 5 minute promo about refurbished juicers that you must listen to every time before you talk to an actual human with only a limited command of the English language) and tell them this and they apologize and say they will send one to me. One month later and no blade. I call them again and this time they say I have to pay for it: I have to pay fifteen dollars for a piece of equipment that was missing from the machine, a piece of equipment that should have been included, a piece of equipment that was technically already paid for. OK, fine, whatever, I just want my juice. I paid for the blade they left out, I paid for shipping, just let me juice! Not yet, I still have to wait 3 - 4 weeks.
Pros: quiet Cons: poor motor, waste of good produce, spits juice everywhere
I thought the name, Jack Lalanne, was synonymous with Abraham Lincoln or Billy Graham! What a disappointment! The only thing I like about it is that it is quiet, but then, maybe that's because the motor has no power. It shuts down just trying to juice a carrot. The claim in the infomercial and on the box was that I would get 30% more juice. Absolutely not! And it takes forever just to get what little bit of juice I do get.I bought at Target. It's going back. I'll replace it with another cheaper brand like I had before and just endure the noise but have much more juice in less time.
Well Here Is My Review About The Juicer.... I Think It Not At All That Great... It's A Pain To Clean Up, And The TV... Say's It's Quiet, Yha Right...It Also Saya On Tv... It Juices Everything.... What A Lie......I Tryed To Juice Rasberrys, But IT Spit them Back Out... So I Rate The Jack LaLane Juicer A 1.... So Too All You People Wanting A juicer , Don't Buy This One... Do It By Hand. Or Just dont Juice.....
Pros: Great for carrots only. Cons: Read the review, too many to list.
Said in advertising that whole fruits could be juiced. WRONG, You have to peel and cut most fruits for juicing. Whoever said clean up in under a minute is day dreaming. When we Fired up the juicer I had fruit juice spit out the front past my glass and pulp pass by the feeder that shot apple pulp on my cabinets. Brake-down and clean up took 20-30 minutes and getting apple pulp out of the basket was very testing of my patience. You lose about 50% of the fruit as waste not the 30% claimed. It took 10 pounds of apples for 32 oz of juice so that cost about $7-10 for a quart of juice and about 1 hour of time for juicing and clean up.
Pros: Apples work best, but even so huge chunks of unprocessed apple get spit out. Cons: Doesn' t process many veggies. Is messy, time-consuming, yields less, juice has pulp.
I have used an Acme Juicer since the 1970s and there is simply no comparison between that old machine and the Jack LaLanne Power Pro Juicer.
After three days of trying to make the Power Juicer Pro work (wasting produce, spending a ton of time juicing and cleaning up not just the juicer, but my entire kitchen counter), I shipped it back and retrieved my 30-year-old Acme from the Goodwill pile. However, the trial cost me a total of $70 in postage.
This machine is very poorly designed. Unfortunately the space alloted below doesn't allow me to provide the evidence of malfunction but hopefully you get the picture.
Pros: Easy use and cleanup. Cons: Does not stand behind its product. Charges $40+ just to get diagnose.
I loved this product for the 6 months before the motor died.
Does not stand behind its product. Just to have it looked at, you must ship with a cost of $40.00+. That's about half of the original cost. Buyer beware.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cheaper than buying bottled juice.
Easy to use. Cons: Sometimes fruit has to be cut before juicing.
Easy to clean, a little time consuming.
I purchased my juicer on Ebay for $34. I have found it to be a good juicer.
It was inexpensive. It's easy to use, and I have never owned a juicer before. I also find it pretty easy to clean -even easier if you own a dishwasher.
It claims to be able to juice whole fruits. I have never found an apple small enought to fit in the chute, and I find it works faster is larger fruit, like apples are cut in half.
Oranges and grapefruit MUST be peeled.
Veggies I can juice whole without problem.
Pulp extractor is good, but juice will still have some "pulp" in it. you could skim the top if you wanted to remove it.
This juicer isn't economical, unless you prefer raw, unfiltered juice. Pastuerized juice is cheaper than buying fresh fruits and veggies, but juicing is cheaper than buying unpastuerized, bottled, juice.
