I ordered jeans from essentialapparel.com over the web. The order was confirmed in all respect and I received an email confirming the order and indicating that a tracking number would be forthcoming right away. I then received an email saying that the jeans were not in stock and would be shipped when they received them. Nowhere had they indicated that the jeans were not in stock. I will not deal with them again.

I've had the worst online shopping experience of my life with Essential Apparel. In fact, this is the first time I've ever written a review for a company and it was this one that drove me to near insanity. My brother's Christmas gift was on backorder, and they told me this 2 WEEKS after I placed the order. Needless to say it did not arrive on time. After Christmas, I checked on the status of the item, and it was still on backorder. Every time I checked, "Backorder, 2 weeks." At this point it had been 2 MONTHS. Finally, I cancelled it and ordered it through Amazon, I believe. Today, nearly 3 MONTHS later, I received an email saying my order was still on hold, after I had already cancelled it. Every time I email them I ask them to confirm that they receive my emails and get no reply. Their customer service line hours are only 9 to 5 and it is now 6:12 so I can't speak to anyone. Die Essential Apparel, DIE.

Slow Shipping, Poor Communication by bifferiffic ,Feb 14 '07
I placed an order 6 days ago. I have checked my order status on their website twice in the last few days, and both times the shipping ETA has been pushed back. The latest estimate puts the order at shipping 8 days after I placed the order, but I expect that will be pushed back as well. I have not been kept up to date on why my order is delayed, and I think that is unacceptable. Just as the title says, Slow Shipping, Poor Communication.
I ordered 3 sweatshirts and 3 pairs of sweatpants over the web. I received an email notification that my order was confirmed and that I would receive a tracking number upon shipment. In a few days I received a shipment with one pair of sweatpants, about a week later I received the other two pairs of pants, but it has been over a month and I have not seen the shirts. I called customer service today and they were not much help, they just told me that they were on back order and that they did not know when the order would be filled. This is very frustrating, when I placed the order it did not indicate that the product was not in stock.

A Dishonest Company - Don't Shop With Them!!!
I ordered a couple of items at the very beginning of December for Christmas presents. Only the item I could have bought more cheaply at any store arrived. After two weeks, the other item - which they post as "usually ships within 48 hours" showed on back order.
When I called to ask if it would arrive by Christmas, they said no. They said it always sells out way before Christmas. It happens every year. I said, but I just checked online. It still says "usually ships within 48 hours."
Their phone rep's attitude was basically, screw you, sucker!

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM EVER AGAIN, AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER. I ordered 4 pair of jeans because at my local store they did not have that size or color. I got the jeans, but I had ordered the wrong size. I did not wear them, tags were still on. I ordered a second order to replace the wrong size, and sent back the original order. It cost me 13 dollars at UPS. It got there in 2 days, and they did not credit me for 3 weeks!!! PLUS if you qualify for free shipping, you get free shipping, but if you return something, they STEAL 6.99 from your return. So, they got over 20 bucks from me, for nothing.

My order confirmation stated that my items would ship in 2 days. 12 days later after I had not received the items (ground shipping) I checked my order status and both items were marked as backordered with no estimated ship date. I was never notified that the items were backordered, not on the original order confirmation or any time later.
I called late in the evening and left a message on the customer service line. I also sent a email asking for the status of the order, an explanation about why I was not notified about the backorders and asking them to "make it right". Two days later I have not received a return phone call or email.
