I ordered a Meade camera/binoculars for a Christmas present. As an after thought I also ordered a pair of shoes for $30, since it would only cost an additional $2 for shipping. After I received the shoes, I received an e-mail that was a shipment confirmation, with a notation that the camera/binoculars were no longer available. I checked my credit card statement and found that they had charged me $15 for shipping and handling. I e-mailed them and told them I was not happy paying $15 shipping for a $30 pair of shoes. They refunded $5.

This was our second experience with Heartland America, confirming the first, and making us wonder, what were we thinking?
The first fiasco involved the inconvenience surrounding them sending the wrong product followed by dealing with the butts they call "customer service" there.
This time they sent a clearly used, abused, and completely nonfunctional product (sold as new) yet refuse to provide a postage paid return label.
These are both cases where my son saved up his hard earned money and waited for shipping, only to be disappointed with an inept and unfair company.
He's learning the hard way I guess. My advice to him? "Spread the word."

I placed an order 1/25 for express shipment which they assured me would be delivered by 1/31. I called them 2/2, shipment was on hold. I was grilled with a number of innocuous questions about where I had lived and how old my daughter was. Since I have dealt with them for years without any problems, I asked to talk with a supervisor and the cheeky person I spoke to said she WAS the supervisor! After that, she told me my EXPRESS shipment would be delivered by 2/9--7 days is express? It was a bad experience and I doubt that I will ever shop there again.
clicked on BUY NOW and was sent to Heartland America. They offered a 2.5" AXION color tv and did not have the NAXA NX-571 as shown on Shopping.Com web page. They did, however show the same price of their diminuative alternate. In fact, after searching for ANY NAXA product on this site only produced 0 items found. Not the way to do business, especially on the internet!
Upon further attempts to buy this item, I clicked on Both Amazon sales sources listed and discovered they ALSO offered a 2.5" hand held color TV. Something is wrong with the links provided here.
Note: also found the same sources offered on other internet collective 'buying' resources offered with the same results.
I received the product but thus far am unable to get it to work. It do not have the capability for CID and CIDCW as stated, don't see the speakphone capability advertised. It looks like this item will be returned. So far as the other item (Camcorder), I have not received yet. I'm disappointed w/that. Not very pleased with this order at all. Read more

There was no invoice in my packages, the rocking chair did not have enough glue so it's not together very well. I was supposed to be able to go online with the invoice number and get a $10 rebate but there was no invoice to be found in either box. The AA batteries are all dead. I had 4 batteries in a screw driver that was starting to spin a little slow and I replaced them with the new batteries from the box I received from Heartland and it hardley moved. I tried to replace the 2 AA batteries in my digital camera (which is why I bought them in the 1st place) and the camera would turn on for about 5 seconds and would not even snap a picture before it would just shut off. Very dissappointing and I'm not even going to bother contacting Heartland because it will be too much of a hassle to get the crap replaced, with most likely more crap. I've tossed both the batteries and the rocker is on the street waiting for garbage day. I won't make the Heartland mistake again though.

Their email order response system does not track all of their coupons and discounts. Makes it very difficult to determine whether correct coupon or discount has been applied until order arrives and you can check order total on the enclosed invoice with what actually got charged to your credit card. Really a poor system. Read more
