Very poor customer service after the sale

A few months ago, I purchased a modern lookong pendant chandelier from Lamps Plus. The price was $300.00.
The shades were advertised as black and the salesman verified that they were black.
The shades were a medium brown when lit. I phoned and e mailed several times. Finally I reached a salesman who said the manufacturer would contact me. NO RESPONSE from Lamps Plus or the mfg.
I emailed with a review, a positive one one of the lamp other than a color problem with the 2 shades. They never published the review since I mentioned the total lack of customer care after the sale.
Lamps Plus salespeople are very very friendly before the sale but there is absolutely no customer service after the sale. I only wanted them to follow up on an incorrect shade color but nothing.
I clearly would not recommend dealing with this company. I have purchased from other lighting companies before and customer service after the sale have been stellar on the rare occasion I needed assistance.

Terrible experience. Ordered a lamp for a Christmas gift early in Dec. and not having received the lamp nor an email giving me the status of my order after ten days, I called Lamps Plus and was told it was on back order. They never called, never sent an email, nothing. This was on the 18th. Thank goodness I called. Ordered the very same lamp from conceptsofdesignonline.com and not only got it in time for Christmas, but they emailed me every step of the way to let me know what was going on. No more Lamps Plus for me!

unhappy with Customer Service, not willing to make it right

Took several calls to find out why my order had not shipped. It turned out that it was not in at the Warehouse and they had ordered from a store location of Lamps Plus who never shipped. They finally shipped from the warehouse and would not pick up the expense of faster delivery when I explained I had an electrician already scheduled and could not reschedule (house under contraction and contractor tightly scheduled sub contractors) Now I need to hire the electrician to come back once the light fixture shows up. I was never told of the possible delay due to not having this in stock.

The worst customer service and overall service.

I ordered three items online. They then contacted me saying they had to "double-check" my billing address since I "failed" to include it. I went to my email confirmation and saw my billing address clearly on the original order. And, funny, the money was already taken from my account. When I called the rep back to tell her this, she cut me off and spoke to me in a condescending manner. I finally had to cut her rant off and just say, "what can I do at this moment to get the order shipped". I was told there was nothing to do since I already repeated my address at the beginning of the call. Was she kidding? She chided me and there was no point to it. Awful! It has been almost a month and I have only receive 1 out of 3 items. These items never said "back ordered" online. So, I called and emailed to find out what was going on.....no response. They do not call back after promising to do so and they do not reply to any emails so far. HORRIBLE customer service and overall service. Do not order from them online, if at all.

Item miss-represented in Picture, Bad/No Service

Outdoor lamp was sent without the pictured Mounting. The listing did not indicate that the picture shows an additional accessory.
The order took a month to ship.
Customer service was no help. They didn't follow-up and were not interested in finding a resolution.
Try LightingDirect.com as an alternative. They have much better prices and customer service.

Clock Badly Made

The brochure is quite impressive and I must say that we were expecting good to superior quality based on the pictures and descriptions we read.
Unfortunately we did not check this company out first before making our purchase of a large wood and metal clock in December of 2005.
It arrived just over 1 month later than anticipated. The 'Wood' was actually some sort of plaster board that did not survive shipping. Poor, poor, quality that I would have been embarrassed to display on my wall broken or not.

They were courteous and easy to order fro. However, they copied my email address wrong and I never did get an email confirmation. The lamps arrived promptly and in good condition anyway but the price and shipping were $94 dollars higher than they quoted ($658 vs. $564). I don't we'll use them again.

Worst experience I have ever had with a mail order company, bar none.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a mail order or web company, bar none. I ordered a lamp base and the shade which their website listed as being the compatible shade for the base. The shade arrived in about two weeks, the lamp base not until another four weeks later. The shade was an Uno type and the lamp required a spider type. I called customer service and was told that they would email me a prepaid return label within two days. Six days later I got the email, but the label was "Inaccessible". I am fed up and at this point will just keep the $14.99 shade and look for a lamp which it fits. But not from Lamps Plus!

Horrible customer service

I ordered two shades from Lamps Plus. They did not fit the lamps. I called to return them; got authorization number; FedEx-ed shades. Waited one week. Called to find out where refund was. Was told shades had not arrived. Got e-mail saying shades had not arrived; e-mail was dated TWO DAYS AFTER FedEx confirmed delivery of shades. Called customer service. Was told shades had not arrive. Asked for supervisor. Was told, "Oh, yes, they are here but we get hundreds of packages a day." Asked when I would get refund. Was told, "Already done." When? "While we are talking," said the supervisor. Asked what would have happened if I had not called? "It might take three billing cycles." Nice way to work of the float of the customers' money, I say. The fact that I ordered replacement shades which arrived relatively quickly and are perfect on the lamps does not make up for the fact that this company has dreadful customer service and shoddy refund policies.

Great lighting but WATCH OUT for their pricing

Lamps Plus has a great selection of lighting at pretty good prices but WATCH OUT for their pricing. I have ordered twice from Lamps Plus and both times I have found the same product for a lower price within a short amount of time. The second time the item was "on sale" via an email that I received from them. Two days later I picked up the catalog I received days earlier and found the same item for $30 lower. Happily, this time, they adjusted the price and gave me a credit but if I weren't so diligent at checking on prcing I would be out my hard earned cash. The first time it took me a while longer and several emails to get credited properly.
I am really annoyed with this retailer but I do like their products so it puts me in a bind. I really hate ordering from them but probably will in the future, but will be very, very careful and check prices several times. i like Lighting Universe as well but have not ordered from them yet.

Bad service once you get it, NO service once you purchase it...stay clear!

First of all they are friendly when you first walk into their store, but once you indicate interest in purchasing, the entire experience worsens. Three times I went back for the same thing and each time they turned to help someone else while in the middle of my transaction. My store order was sold to me without their checking the condition (arrived broken due to their poor internal packaging and discovered when I got home) and I've been trying to get it fixed since 1 1/2 months ago, after emailing them, calling, leaving voice mails, going to the store, calling their customer service and corporate offices...not to mention that my bathroom job is now on hold. This store clearly has only one interest, which is to make a sale. While this one light is only a small item, they have lost my future sales on the home currently in the building process. This clearly is not a business interested in standing by their products, providing customer service for other than a quick light bulb, or keeping future business.

I've got Polished Steel Swoop Desk Lamp from Lamps Plus, which broke within a year. I wanted to post a negative review on their website, they approved it but they NEVER post on their page! I have noticed it, so I posted again, no luck, they don't post it on their page. I sent an e-mail asking why they don't post my ratings, they just told me they post all positive/negative ratings but didn't answer me WHY they don't post my ratings. I searched for all ratings on there, spending almost an hour to check any reviews. Any reviews on there I noticed are rated over 4 out of 5. DO NOT trust all the ratings on there, obviously, they don't wanna post any negative ratings.

We had a problem; the item showed up at one of our neighbor's, who was kind enough to call us. Lamp's Plus had our address on file from prior orders. The least they could have done was to compare, and contact us is there was a discrepancy.
