I placed an order for several items that were on sale. It has been two and a half weeks and I still have not receive anything despite choosing the standard three day shipping option. One of my items was cancelled and I still have not received the refund. Avoid this merchant even though prices are tempting.

Poor product, bad customer service

I got myself the Northern tool 42 CC brushcutter from Northerntooluk.com. Within months the fan blades around the drive shaft started braking off at full speed during operation, very scary! I send the brushcutter back to Northerntooluk.com only to be told that this is not a warranty issue and I therefore don't get a refund. If internally braking engine parts are not a warranty issue for Northern Tools, what is? in my opinion this machine is dangerous as the driveshaft is spinning at thousands of rpm's and the braking fan blades could shoot anywhere, Northern Tool should recall the Northern tool 42 CC brushcutter immediately, but instead they fob me off. Northerntooluk.com have some nice products on the website but the Northerntool 42cc Brushcutter isn't one of them and customer service is a joke.

Horrible shipping, even worse customer service. Beware of small/fine print that states they are not responsible for the product under any condition. They blantly lied and never returned calls. Buyers Beware!! NOT RECOMMENDED!! If you've been burned by them, call your credit card company asap, call attorney general also.

Do not place an overseas order with Northern Tools. I ordered and paid for a chainsaw to be sent to Australia. About four weeks later I get an email saying they had received my returned order and had refunded my money. Well I did not return the order - and the money refunded was minus the shipping cost. I have sent numerous emails and they have not bothered to reply.
I believe that Husqvarna have a policy that their items are not to be shipped from the US - if this is the case why was my order taken in the first place and why the rubbish about me returning the order.
"As always your complete satisfaction is our top priority" This is the quote published on Northern Tools web page - Do not believe it.
I did finally receive a reply from the company - saying they had no idea why the saw was returned.On the 10 July I was promised a refund of my shipping cost -today is the 2 August and I am still waiting. Do not believe anything that this company says.

I ordered a few items from Northern. Their catalog really has just about everything. I received said catalog with my online order. After flipping through the catalog I saw that a few of my items were listed cheaper than what I had a paid. All it took was an email and Northern refunded the difference back to my card. Great products, great customer service and... I'll be back!

Good prices but incompetent service. They accidentally doubled my order. I called twice and pointed out the error, and they said that they would cancel one of the orders. Then...both orders arrived. They then wanted me to pay for the return shipment. When I pointed out that it was their mistake and noted that I tried repeatedly to keep them from shipping both, they said that they would refund the shipping. Then, they didn't refund the shipping.

Great Products, Great Service, Great Company

After Hurricane Frances I lost power for 8 days. I tried to find a Generator locally and even went as far as Ga. and North Carolina but there were none to be found. With Hurricane Ivan/Jeanne approaching Florida fast I called Northerntool and to my amazement they had a generator in stock. I ordered it on a friday and had it the following Wednesday. Just in time for hurricane Jeanne to hit. Lost power again for 2 days....but this time I had my Northerntool 8000 watt monster. Ran like a dream. Powered everything I threw at it.(except AC)I love it. It is built very well and the price was not bad for the power it puts out. Northerntool your awesome thanks for powering me up during the Hurricane. Hopefully I won't have to use it anymore this year.

I have bought a lot of tools from Northern Tool. and as I always do on a large tool purchase I was comparing prices on the Hobart Stickmate AC/DC welder. To my surprise my old friend Northern Tool was $100. higher than Tractor Supply on the same welder. Ahumm, makes me wonder about some of the other purchases I have made there...

I ordered a Yamaha generator from Northern because they were a supposed 'authorized' dealer. My generator was delivered 3 weeks late. It was missing a key, owner's manual, battery acid, & charging cables. I worked with various managers for 5 weeks waiting for the parts. When the manager finally asked Yamaha what the holdup was, they replied, "Northern is no longer an authorized dealer because you guys haven't paid your bills"!! When I heard that, I returned it with no problem.

Very disappointing

Disappointed in their moving to cheap imported products that are copies of quality products they used to carry.
Ordered a trailer (1 ton capacity) that after 1 month of use is falling apart. Paid a good penny for it as I thought I knew who the manufacturer was, but saw the sticker under the trailer which showed who the real manufacturer was.
They used to be a good company to deal with, but they have lost my business for good.

Simply the worst transaction I have had on the internet. They charge for items they aren't able to deliver (illegal), they reject claims on their 110% price guarantee (unethical) and have horrible customer service. Check their feedback on Amazon.com (15% negatives!) and see the better business bureau website (51 complaints in the past 36 months). I filed complaints with the BBB and the Minnesota attorney general's office consumer affairs division. I would STRONGLY advise that you avoid dealing with these crooks. I am still waiting for them to refund $4500 for an order they never delivered!

Credit Department is clueless

Major Construction Company in the SouthEast, 5 years of patronage and promt payment history on a (bill-to) set-up. They want additional 2 Years Financial Statements and more refrences to extend credit beyonb $2300. We wanted to make a one time purchase worth $2400 for some machines they had on sale. They locked the transaction. They need to realize who's the risk and who is not, we are not new to the area and we have a firm reputation in this state.

POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS AND ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.DO NOT USE

Ordered a petrol chainsaw and petrol hedge trimmer. Items arrived next day but were of extremely poor quality.Couldn't get the chain to spin freely after having to assemble it all. Hedge trimmer looked like it would fall to peices after 10 minutes so I decided to pay out of my own pocket and return for a "FULL REFUND". I have called customer services 4 times, faxed them the paperwork they require twice and emailed the same form and they still have not given me the returns number "I NEED TO QUOTE BEFORE RETURNING ANY ITEMS". They seem to be giving me the cold shoulder now I want my money back. BUYERS BEWARE. This company do not want to know once they have taken your money. Now I have started the long and painful task of getting the credit card company to sort out the mess. I will never deal with these idiots again, and I suggest you go to machine mart were you might pay a fiver more, but at least they stand by their products!
