Pros: Big, bright, colorful, clear, sharp, lightweight, flat! Cons: There are cons?
As to the title:Well, not really, but you get the point. The Story (why this monitor?): Lets talk about monitors okay? Lets assume, just for a second, that we are obsessed with monitors, and one brand in particular. Now lets ...
Pros: Bright, stunning, lots of pixel real estate, pivots effortlessly (as long as stalk's extended) Cons: Vague setup instructions for analog/digital hookup. Pivot Pro doesn't load resident.
Spent 2 years researching large LCD monitors, given the reservations about pink corners, off tones and casts, dead pixels, slow response, etc. I was also waiting for either the 213T to get cheap, or preferably, to be replaced by a next gen model -- ...
Pros: Bright, Wide Viewing Angle, 1600x1200, 25ms, Large Screen Area, Thin Bezel, Rotates, SAMSUNG ! Cons: Back of unit perhaps not as "cool" looking as Sony.
I had been working with a 70lbs 21" Panasonic CRT monitor on my computer for about 4 years. My main ...
Pros: Crystal clear images. Excellent contrast and brightness, Portrait Mode Cons: Pivot software seems to cause an IE error every time I tilt it.
I researched this and other review sites for months before jumping in. Local stores Circuit City, Best Buy etc only had the silver model and I much prefer the black beauty. I had been using a 21" Sony Trinitron CRT (actually Dell's version) for many ...
Pros: Everything all the other reviewers said about it, particularly Puppies, Butterflies, etc. Cons: Unlike some others, I think you can have too much of a good thing.
For the actual physical details about the monitor, several reviewers have already reflected my opinions. I just got my monitor a couple of days ago, but I'm pleased. This monitor is like UPS: It delivers. It's crisp and large. Great luminosity. It's ...
Pros: Large screen, nice image, very well built. Cons: Pixel pitch is a tiny bit coarse. Image is a smidgen dull.
I live in a small town, so finding a 20.1" or 21.3" LCD monitor to inspect in one of the local computer stores is impossible. The next best thing is to read reviews on the internet. Surprise, surprise. Very few of those exist either, save one. The ...
Just picked up mine tonight. Words that came to my mouth before I turned it on. "MASSIVE!" After I turned it on. "PERFECT!" 1600x1200 clean and crisp from corner to corner. 1 bad pixel. no biggie. I was too worried about getting a 20" ...
Pros: Great picture. Good quality. Great zero pixel policy. Cons: None
I would have to say that I am a proud techno junkie. The latest and greatest only find a place in my home. This Samsung is the nicest LCD computer monitor I have and I own 6 LCD's in my home. I opted for the silver unit which matches my Lian Li ...
Pros: Big, bright, sharp Cons: Poor image quality from analog input
The display is big - visibly larger than a 20" LCD - and very bright. Compared to other LCD monitors I have, the 213T is very bright, and the backlight is much more blue. This color contrast can be a jarring in a dual-monitor configuration. The ...
Pros: Screen Size and Quality Intuitive Controls Dual Inputs Auto Adjustments Cons: Source control for dual input easily gets confused with 2 computers
The 213T is an excellent monitor to Samsungs credit. Over the last several years I have seen the quality and technology improve from this company. We purchased this monitor, nearly 3 years ago. It has been on daily for that time, mostly left on 24/7 ...
Pros: bright, crisp, fast response Cons: reasonably expensive, poor analog
I have had a 20G 20" Viewsonic CRT monitor since 94 or 95, and although it's been good to me, it was starting to show some signs of aging, like not being able to handle strange resolutions ( like 848x480 ), and different refresh rate combinations. At tim ...
Pros: Top quality image, stability, flexibility, ease of use Cons: No access to color controls in DVI mode.
Excellent overall text clarity, contrast, uniformity of illumination and color, wide viewing angle. Easy height adjustment and pivotabiliity, real pluses for portrait orientation for the bulk of computer use in word processing, internet browsing most of ...
Pros: Very nice monitor when not being replaced. Cons: 1st monitor died, second slowly dying, will the third arrive?
The monitor is fine when it worked, and when the replacement worked, and (I hope) when the third works. Samsung Customer Service has an unbridgeable gap with the warehouse, and with any performance. This is one of those "can't believe this gets worse ...
Pros: Perfect picture in particular with the digital connection. Cons: No USB ports
The problem with reviewing a monitor like this is that to the extent it doesn't seem perfect may be an artifact of my new Matrox P650 video card but I really have no way of finding out (well, not without a lot of work). The fact is that given a ...
Pros: Nice screen. Flexible. Cons: They require a whopping $3000 hold to exchange under warranty program.
A ‘Head-Up’’ If Considering SAMSUNG Computer Products. I own a Samsung 21"LCD, model 213T computer monitor. It is 7 months old, and has a 3 year factory warranty. My unit has a problem and the factory says they will do an “exchange” for a refurbished ...
Great monitor for my aging eyes by dcsailing1 ,Aug 25 '04
Pros: Easy on the eyes, crisp and clear Cons: only one, now we have to buy one for my wife
Great monitor for my aging eyes!
This monitor is all we expected and more after reading the other reviews. Very crisp and clear and easy for my failing eyes to use. Only problem is now we have to get one for my wife too, which is really not a problem. Just be sure you purchase one from a good supplier, as the first one we purchased, (from Infinity Micro), had some dead pixels and was not new as they said. We then had the hassle and expense of returning it and buying another from an honest dealer (J&R)
Pros: Text crispness, Stunning picture and design. Best there is. Height and Pivot Adjustments. Cons: Size for sitting close
This is the first LCD monitor I have purchased. I watch monitor from approximately 6 feet from my LazyBoy with wireless mouse and keyboard. So I needed big screen at that distance. For the most part I use 800x600 resolution. I don't have DVI connected yet. Need to get a new card. Even at this resolution and using analog, the picture is stunning and text is crisp. There is an auto button on front panel which makes it very easy to adjust. Height adjustment is great. It also pivots. This is probably the best looking LCD available even when it is turned off. Home Theater Mag rated it very highly. All reviews I have seen have praised this monitor's stellar performance.
The only drawback is that now I want one for work, but I think this monitor is just too big to sit up close to. I would be interested in hearing from others on this issue. I don't want to use in native resolution of 1600x1200 because text is tiny and Internet Explorer and other programs only appear on half the screen.
It's good, but not exciting by oldtechie ,May 06 '05
Pros: TCO03 certified. Big. Good price at $660 - $100rebate. Cons: It tires down my eyes more easily than my old 17in CRT does.
Just bought one from NewEgg (4/15/2005). It's big and good looking.
Some ghosting with Divx movies and DVDs, but I'm getting used to it on all LCDs. And I'm too busy to play games so I don't worry its slow response time that much.
Two other things seem to be more of a bother. First, those sharp Divx movies when viewed on my old 17" monitor don't look that good any more when viewed full-screen on this 21inch monitor. Obviously this isn't a problem with the monitor. Second, I spend 4-6 hours in front of monitor. I often heard LCD's are easier on eyes. But it doesn't seem true in my case. I set 213T to 50% bright. I feel my eyes get tired more easily with this 213T than my old 17in CRT. I don't know why. Do your eyes experience the same if you own 213T? Let me know if you can. Mail me at shallowmellow at yahoo.com.
Everything else is good. It's TCO 03 certified, instead of the 99 or 95 that you see on many online spec sheet.
Pros: Huge and Crisp Cons: The "silver" bezel color is ugly and rarely matches anything else.
I purchased this monitor for $950 on ebay (delivered, no tax) about a year ago. It is the best monitor I've ever used and I'm thinking about purchasing another
Pros: Pivoting screen, small footprint, analog/digital and cables provided for both. 21.1 screen (nice). Cons: None so far. Go shopping and buy one, you will be pleased.
Prices are starting to come down on this pricey monitor and now is the time to shop for one. I just purchased the 213T and am very pleased. I noted on a review comments about the brightness, but I have no complaints, I did tweak it up from the preset 50 up to 80. It has both digital and analog connections and Samsung generously provides the cables for both. 1600X1200 resolution is good. The ability to pivot the monitor itself is a GREAT feature and Samsung provides the software to pivot your screen image 90, 180 and 270 degrees. At the price I got it at, I'm pleased. I hope Samsungs customer support is as good as it's product. That's another issue with me that can make or break a product.
