| matrusty's Full Review: 007 Tomorrow Never Dies for PlayStation 1 |
Tomorrow never dies is a bit dated now, but provides a lot of good gameplay nonetheless. It's very hard but after a lot of getting used to, it’s a mission, possible.
Gadgets, Cars, Guns, Women and villains all inhabit the levels.
Shoot, drive and talk your way through this game to save the world from ww3. You can become quite frustrated with the game if you keep on dying, which is about the only downside to the game. You do get shot allot of the time when you are trying to reload, but it just makes it more realistic.
The best thing is, you always know what you are supposed to do. If you have seen the film, you have seen how it's done from a professional. It’s just managing to do it that’s the hard bit.
I have completed it on agent level, (medium) but I have not been so successful on 007 level, (hard).
It also contains great clips from the film that actually look like their from the film. That impressed me quite a bit.
You can also get secret weapons when you complete it on all levels, and all difficulties. For example, on the downhill skiing level, you can shoot while skiing instead of using your poles to hit the baddies off the cliff.
It's also like collecting the videos or dvds. I mean this looks great next to “The World Is Not Enough," and “007 Racing," as well as the entire video collection.
You cannot play multiplayer on this one, which is a shame but the single player gaming makes up for that.
You get the usual Bond treatment when you choose out of the wide selection of weapons and gadgets to help you on your travels. Some of these gadgets may include, the mobile phone you use as a fingerprint scanner, or the cuff links that break glass, (very handy).
There are, as you find in most games based on movies, extra levels not seen in the actual film. One of these levels is a great car chase. You get to drive around in the latest B.M.W that has machine guns that pop out of the sides and rocket launcher out of the roof. It is quite funny to muck about on this level. For instance you can shoot Q in the leg a few times, and he does not seem to mind.
Most games based on movies are usually over rated. This one is not “usually." I will give this an 8/10 for this game.
