yes, vague review (Reply to this comment)
by flopmeister
I test drove a base 07 TL a month ago and was disappointed in it based on reviews like this. The transmission (auto)/front end clunked when it shifted from 2 to 3. There was hesitation in the shifting with some slippage and rev up. It felt clunky and the cabin felt disconnected from the suspension and drivetrain. I had another person riding in the back and they felt the same way, though they did feel comfort and a decent ride. Overall, the car felt loosely put together, like it was falling apart driving over bumps. I was quite set on buying one based on these types of reviews but have really second guessed myself since driving it. Maybe it was because the one I drove was a test car. But I can't imagine any ol' Joe Blow stopping off at an Acura dealership and taking the car out and thrash it. Even then, the Hondas I've had you could thrash upon them even with 6 digit miles and they still were strong and tight. This felt like a GM car.

Re: Great review but inaccurate! (Reply to this comment)

How about writing a decent review that provides some detailed evaluation of why this car is so much better than others in the class? Your current review is a collection of cliches ("handles like a slot car"--have you driven one?) that doesn't say much of anything about the car. For example, instead of simply saying the 2007 is "much better" than the 2006, explain how it's much butter.
Until then, the only thing you seem to disagree with is my overall assessment of the car, not any specific thing I say about it.

Great review but inaccurate! (Reply to this comment)

WOW, you write a good but very flawed review and all of these people think you know the car. I hope they still drive one if they are in the market, it would be a shame if they didn't.

You have a really nice writing style for the reviews, but you mention a lot about the car in general.
I think that you give a great overall review for the general buying public. I think it's interesting you talk about the styling as much as how it drives. For the general public, that's important because most cars are sold on style.
I noticed I never really talk about it because its so subjective, but I think it's a good thing to talk about if you're qualified (I never pay attention to style when buying, but that's just me ;-)
You seem to have tried so many cars and know so much about the topic, an enthusiast like me wants to hear more gory details about how it drives, on-cam feeling, oversteer and miscellaneous automotive pornography from another afficionado....
Great job
