| xpander007's Full Review: Rio Go Video DDV9550 VCR |
I bought my Go-Video DDV-9550 VCR about 8 months ago. I picked it up at Sears(of course) for $250. This VCR actually has so many features I don't even use 20% of them. I bought the unit to mostly tape from one deck to another. This unit will tape anything! Before I bought this I used to hook two VCR's together. Not only does this produce a bad picture, many times I couldn't get rented tapes to copy (Maybe because you are not supposed to copy them!). The Go-Video puts an end to that. You can tape anything. It records perfect copies from deck to deck. With two decks you can also do things like watch TV while you are taping from another channel. This is nice, when your wife wants you to tape something for her when she's out with her friends but you don't want to watch it. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the unit. This puppy's huge! What can you expect from a dual deck VCR though? I read on another review that not having LP mode is a problem. It would be nice to have LP I agree. It would solve a few problems for me but since I did not have it on my last VCR either I have become used to not having it. In a dying age of VCR's this unit stands out with the many features it has.
