| oillogger's Full Review: Philips FWC85 CD Shelf System |
I gave this to my son for Christmas last year and he loves it! There are many features, which my son has made much use of. He sets the built in clock to wake him each morning. The sound is much better than any alarm clock so it is a sure bet for an alarm clock replacement. The WOOX electronics allows you to set the different bass selections and it will put out a lot of bass for a tabletop stereo. The Philips FWC-85 has 220 watts of power, which usually gets me into my son's room asking him to turn it down. There are two cassette decks so you can easily copy tapes. My son loves the fact he can change CDs while another one is playing. The Philips FWC-85 will hold up to three CDs at once. Another feature my son likes is the multifunction remote. With the remote he can control his music universe without leaving his bed. The operation of the unit is easy to understand my son had it all figured out in 30 minutes tops leaving poor old Dad in the dust. There is plenty of tone adjustment with the different preprogrammed selections. There is even an output for a subwoofer on the back as well as outputs for an external CDRW. I also noticed some sort of a digital output. The Philips FWC-85 has been a much-enjoyed Christmas gift for my son.
