Go into the women's faculty restroom at most high schools in my district and you will find that someone has left a basket with a selection of feminine hygiene products, a vase with a few silk flowers, a few catalogs (Avon, Tupperware and Currents), and perhaps a fancy soap or two. Imagine my delight then when I walked into a room that had a vanity table with a lighted mirror and a matching stool. Looking around, I found the normal selection of feminine hygiene products tactfully hidden away in a drawer beneath the table. On top was a mirrored tray with a bud vase containing a real rose and a basket which included a few tubes and bottles of lotions, perfumes and creams. Among these was a tube of Fifth Avenue Body Lotion Fifth Avenue Body Lotion by Elizabeth Arden. I gave it a shot. I liked it well enough that I decided to give the perfume a try, too.
The fragrance in the lotion was light which I was pleased by. The fragrance in the perfume is a bit stronger, but still relatively light. I actually wore both the perfume and the lotion today and didn't gas anybody out from an over powering aroma. No sensory overload for me or the people around me. (My family confirmed that on request.)
Fifth Avenue was launched by Elizabeth Arden in 1996. It is classified as a refreshing and flowery fragrance. On first spraying it on, it smells a bit like a sweet disinfectant. That fades within two or three minutes (happily) and leaves behind a combination of magnolia, mandarin, peach/apricot, nutmeg/allspice and sandalwood. The aroma lasts a fairly long time. I made it through the day without reapplying. The fruit scents faded first, followed by the florals. It's hours later, however, and I can still detect a touch of spice and wood.
Because the scent is light and fresh, this is a great warm-weather, daytime scent. I really liked the aroma of this perfume. This is a perfume that can be expensive. A one-ounce eau de parfum spray can run $33.50. A half-ounce perfume can run $105. I ended up getting a sampler for the counter at a local department store. I've since purchased the one-ounce eau de parfum which I found on sale for about $22. That is one of the good things about this line. It is easy to find and can be found on sale. If you find it at a department store, you might want to wait for the time that there are give-aways with purchase.
If you're looking for a nice, fresh, casual scent for daytime wear or if you're looking for something to wear in the season when you can put on your white shoes, Elizabeth Arden's 5th Avenue is ideal
