Pros: This unit plays almost everything you would want a high end player to play.
Cons: I too though instructions are too brief.And remote is not backlit.
The Bottom Line: Great player! Solid, works well and looks GREAT!

I purchased this unit after searching for a couple of months for a good DVD player. Unfortunately there were not many opinions on this particular model at epinions so I had to do a lot of in store investigations.
I had a few key requirements that my unit had to satisfy.
1)Progressive scan
2)Plays all types of disks;CD-R, CD-RW, MP3z, CD video DVD-audio and obviously DVD-video
3)Any and all outputs optical, RCA, coaxial, component, and S-video.
A bonus was the CD remastering that works very well.
At 192 kHz and 24 bit and a build in decoder it is all you need for great quality picture provided the appropriate television is used.
I was not too impressed with the instruction manual as another writer also stated was quite brief in its description and was not really user friendly. The remote was nice in that it had a universal component for your T.V. but disapointed that it was not back lit.
The unit is quick to play the disk and is quiet. All and all I am happy to own the RP91K and look forward to hours of enjoyment.
