| compwiz's Full Review: Yamaha NS-6390 Main / Stereo Speaker |
The search for a truly affordable high performance bookshelf speaker stops here. Yamaha for its fifth or so year in a row has dominated the industry with its 8" 3 way. The 6390 is new this year with stylish gray cones and a more defined box. A 3-way speaker will give you the most range of tones because of the frequency response out of each of the three devices in the speaker. This is my second pair of Yamaha speakers both 8" 3-way. I have been very pleased with both pairs of speakers. The NS-6390 is tough and rugged at 140 watts each its going to take a lot to overload these 8" puppies. Each speaker also has a 4" dome mid-range and a 3/4" balanced dome tweeter. Both speakers contain a crossover network which divide up the low and high signals to woofer, tweeter and mid-range. An added bonus is that the speakers come magnetically shielded which will help prevent any charge to monitors or TV's. The only thing I didn't like about this product is it was hard to find someone who had it in-stock.
