I just recently rebuilt my computer and wanted to get a new monitor. I knew I wanted a 17inch monitor, but was not excited about dropping $300 to $400 on it as I had just dumped a bunch of money into my computer. I use it for personal web surfing but would feel just fine if I had to use it at the office.
It was easy to install and all the adjustments were easy enough to understand. They come up on the screen and are very clearly laid out. It has a fairly large foot print and overall is a pretty big unit. It is probably a good 18 to 20 inched in depth which I needed to make room for. It you have a space concern I am not sure this is the monitor for you.
Bang for the buck this monitor rates at the top of the scale. I paid $199 for it and have seen it priced similarly a couple of times. You certainly can get a better picture for $400 but you pay for it.
I did have one problem with it right after I got it. It had a very high almost un-audible whine to it. If I had a dog it would have drove it nuts. It lasted about two weeks and I was going to take it back but then it has gone away and I have had this monitor almost a year and it is working great. It sleeps when it supposed to, it wakes up quickly, and overall I am very please.
If you have some budget constraints and don't want to drop a bundle I would give this monitor five stars on value, four stars on quality of picture.
