| Debbie26's Full Review: Activity Walker |
Each of my triplets received one of these activity walkers when they were babies. We had three of these things laying around the house. My triplets were three months premature and they had many developmental delays. They didn't start walking until around 13 months old, one of them not until he was 15 months old but they were mobile for about a month or so before that with the help of this activity walker. I was told that 15 months old for a three month premature infant isn't really that bad, but then you are talking to a mom whose oldest son walked at 8 1/2 months old.
I loved these toys from the very start. I liked the fact that even before the boys were showing any interest in walking they could lay them flat on the floor to play with. Once they were interested in walking it was easy for them to grip the handles and be on the go. Later when they could walk on their own they loved to use it like a stroller or carry all, they would put their stuffed animals or other toys in there and push them around the house. They also used it to push the toys they wanted to play with into their own little area or to pick up toys and store them. It was really cute. Now that they are almost four years old I had to sale the Activity Walker because the boys are just too big for them and I am afraid they will get hurt on them. They have decided recently that it is a lot of fun for one of them to sit in the toy and the other two to push it really fast. It only took one time of the toy flipping over and one of the boys busting his lip for me to put a stop to that and get rid of them. But the boys had a great time with them for the last three years and they were still in really great condition after all that rough play so I know someone else will be enjoying them as well.
The Activity walker is made of sturdy plastic and has an easy to grip handle. It is recommended for children age 7 months to 3 years. It is very versatile and useful throughout all of your child's developmental stages. It can be laid flat for playing with. There is a dial, spinning balls, and a mirror for an infant to enjoy. Then as the child begins to pull up they can use it to help learn to walk. It can also be used as a stroller for a doll or to tote toys around, but it shouldn't be used to push other children in trust me. It folds up flat so that you can store it easily. They are about $20.
