| klsdad's Full Review: Aero Bed Portable Self-Inflating Bed |
Two years ago I needed a light-weight twin mattress I could store upright, then carry to my sleeping area in my studio apartment. I saw one Aero mattress on the Home Shopping Network and ordered it. It was the model with the so-called built-in pillow. After a few nights my mattress started to lose air and I found the small tear in one of the seams in the pillow area. Called Aero.. and the first thing the support lady said was.. to the effect "Well.. what did you expect?? You bought the cheap model!!?" I couldn't believe her attitude and didn't even realize that they have several models.
Well, they gave me TWO more replacements.. and they ALL
had the same tear defect. After that, a nice lady who reviewed my account said she would give me an upgrade (the 4th mattress!!), and I have used it for the past year and a half. Then, it started to leak and I've been 3 weeks trying to find out why. The Aero beds seem to have problems with the seals in the lids which are there to provide rapid deflation. I've tried the new valve Aero furnished, but.. this morning realized that I don't have to put up with this any longer. I took a butcher knife.. and made several longs slits in the mattress. (It did feel good.. but I don't think it will lead to more slashings!!) Actually it was to make sure anyone would not try to use it.
Too bad. The company has a great idea.. but it can't get it's act together.
Most sincerely,
KLS
