| Ryoko_aiwa's Full Review: Aiwa XR-DV700 Theater System |
Welcome!
Hello! Get you popcorn ready! Welcome to my review of the Aiwa XR-DV700! This is a great system with great features and the oh so sexy looks and sound from the experts at Aiwa. NOTE: All trademarks are proprety of their respective owners and holders. Now, let's get started!
The system:
The Aiwa XR-DV700 is a sleek and sexy system. It has the same looks as their XR-X7 system but uses the 5 satellite 1 subwoofer system that most DVDTheater systems use. But this is NOT your average DVD theater system! It has a bold new look as well as some pretty interesting features that I have not found on any other system. It has a 1 CD/DVD player and bass/treble controls, CD-R/ CD-RW playback,12 preset display colors and 4 manaul colors you can set up yourself, 3 postion Super T Bass, BBE sound processing ( for more clear highs and tighter, more defined mids, and tighter richer bass) And Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 channel decoding and processing. This system that I tested had 30 watts x 5 and 55 watts for the powered subwoofer. It also has so many features I can't possibly fit on this review! Oh yeah! not to forget the system has plenty of A/V inputs on the back for all you who need them.
The DVD Playback:
The DVD playback on the other hand is much like all of Aiwa's DVD players, uses the same menu system as other Aiwa dvd players, simple and very easy to use! The DVD playback is very natural and smooth with not distortion at the deges and it has less errors ion special effects playback than mose DVD players. It has the normal features of a high-end DVD player plus some really nice extras, like a virtual surround sound if you don't have all the speakers connected, plus alot more. I liked the DVD player's playback! it is really better than poineer's or anyother DVD hteater system because most DVD theater systems have to function as hometheater recivers too, so the maufacturers have to concentrate on both. And sometimes one or the other lacks in one of the modes, well, to my surprise this one did PERFECT AS BOTH!!! Great job Aiwa!!!! Extra "Brownie points" for putting both in this system and doing it right!
The speakers:
The XR-DV700 has 5 really neat looking and sounding "satellite speakers that are magentically sheilded and they are fed with 30 watts of power for each of the 5 "satellites" and the subwoofer is magnetically sheilded too, with 55 watts driving and feeding it. The speakers are great performers and they have very full 3D sound. The subwoofer's bass ids very rich and full. I am very pleased with the sound! It's like you are actually there in the action!
The conclusion:
The XR-DV700 is a VERY nice syatem that is one heck of a movie machine, the ony thing it don't do for you is make the popcorn! I liked it and I very much encourage you to get one! I hope you liked my review and I hope you get this!!!
