Wearing contacts can be a pain...unless you treat them right.
Ten years ago my optometrist said I needed glasses. At first, I thought "oh neat, I can have a new image". Well it wasn't long before I HATED my glasses. No matter how many different styles of lenses I tried over the years I was never satisfied or comfortable with how I looked wearing glasses. Then... four years ago I was introduced to soft contact lenses. I love them! For anyone thinking about soft contact lenses, my advice is give them a try. You need to really try them for a few months to see if you will like them. If you try them for a month or less you probably won't like them. You need a couple of months to get used to them.
In order for me to "see" and be content with having to wearing contacts I know I need to take care of them. I am religious about cleansing them daily. I use Alcon Opti-Free Express multi-purpose disinfecting solution to both store and clean my contacts.
When I first got my contacts this was the brand my optometrist gave me a sample of to try. Since then I have tried many other contact solutions (Bausch and Lomb, Ciba) and I am happiest using Alcon Opti-Free Express.
What I like
-Alcon Opti-Free Express is easy to use. I store my contacts in the case over night and my contacts are clean in the morning.
-The ingredients. Alcon Opti-Free Express contains: Sodium citrate, tetronic 1304 which cleans and removes any deposits and protein build-up while the contacts soak. Polyquad, Aldox which kill germs/disinfects. Sodium chloride, boric acid, sorbitol, AMP-95, and edetate disodium which help to balance the solution making wearing the contacts comfortable. And NO saline.
-The price. I normally do not pay more than $7 for a 12oz., which lasts about one month.
-I can feel a difference in my contacts after I have just cleansed them.
-I have never had any eye infections while using this product.
I have yet to find anything bad about this product. I recommend it to anyone who wears soft contact lens. If you try this product I also recommend trying Alcon Opti-Free Supra Clens Daily Protein Remover. I use this about once a week to get my contacts extra clean.
