| lorirobe's Full Review: Aleve Pain Reliever |
It has been raining in New York for about five days. For some reason this causes my sinus pain to act up terribly. How does sinus pain feel? Well, for one I become extremely lethargic. I wake up after plenty of sleep and still, I feel a weariness over my entire body. The kind where it is just heavenly to lay down.
There is a painful pressure in the front of my face, especially over my eyelids and inner cheeks. And the headache........a nagging relentless weight on the back of my head. O.k., so enough about hearing someone complain about their symptoms. But, I tell you so you can understand their extent and realize that it is very difficult to alleviate these lingering effects of sinus pressure.
Aleve claims to relieve the following ailments:
nasal congestion and sinus pressure, plus headache and body aches
Specific symptoms that is claims to temporarily relieve include:
sinus pressure, minor body aches and pains, headache, nasal and sinus congestion (promotes sinus drainage and restores freer breathing through the nose), fever.
The only symptom that I experienced before taking this pill is the headache and pressure in my face.
Today, I tried my one pill sample of "Aleve Cold & Sinus all day pain relief caplet" courtesy of Dailyedeals.com free sample website. This pill sets it apart from the rest because with just one dosage, it is supposed to last for 12 hours. So let's see, I took one at 11:00 a.m. It is 8:00 p.m. and after nine hours, my symptoms are under control and haven't been back since.
Aleve Cold and Sinus is a non-drowsy formula
I am especially happy with the non-drowsy aspect because this is just the medication I need to get me through the day when my sinus headaches are at their worst. I know that I can take one in the morning and feel comfortable with driving and getting through my day in the classroom with the children.
The caplet is also a size that is a long oval, but thin, so if you do experience some difficulty in swallowing pills, I think you will find that this goes down easily with the glass of water that you must take with this medication.
The active ingredient is Naproxen sodium. I have never heard of that before, but maybe that is just the ingredient to do the job. I have had no relief from any other over the counter sinus medications.
The warning I see on the packaging is that of an allergy alert. Hives, facial swelling and asthma are listed under "may cause a severe allergic reaction". Shock is also included. Medications, these days, are required to list their side effects under the laws of the Food and Drug Administration, so I do not get too worried over the very small percent who reported such symptoms. But I do feel it is very important to read these alerts before taking any medication.
There is another warning that I feel obligated to inform you of:
"If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks everyday, ask your doctor whether you should take naproxen sodium. Naproxen sodium may cause stomach bleeding."
It is up to the individual to read these warnings and consult their doctor regarding any questions or concerns with medications whether they are over the counter or prescription.
It is a tremendous relief to feel the heavy weighty headache lifted. I finally found my sinus relief!!
Thankyou Alleve!!
