After about 3 months of heavy use (I spend at least 5 hours in the car each day), I have NOT found any kind of issue/s with this Head Unit.
The buttons are well laid out and easy to read, the remote is very easy to operate and fits very well on your hand, the CD/FACE mechanism is quite sturdy and easy to handle!
It plays ALL my MP3 files without any issues and ALL of my CDRs as well. There is a rumor that this unit takes a bit of time playing MP3 tracks, but it is fine to me.
It looks quite CLASSY (Blue with Silver) and very easy to read during the day and at night. It does get to be a little on the BRIGHT BLUE side at night, but it doesn't bother me a bit as I have seen brighter units (like the Panasonics) before.
Now to the SOUND QUALITY-
This Player is definitely TOP NOTCH! Its very versatile and comes with features like Time Alignment and Bass Controls with built in Crossovers (2 way) and a separate Bass output.
It also comes with an EQ for Bass and Treble with selectable frequencies unlike some units that only let you adjust "BASS" and "TREBLE".
I used this on my Competition vehicle and took 3RD place on an IASCA sanctioned event!!
Way to go Alpine for a GREAT SOUNDING piece and a bargain at that!
