My daughter just loves her American doll Kailey. So, for her birthday last year we purchased several items of clothing and accessories for her doll Kailey. One of the American Girl clothing items we got for her was the Kaiely's Wet Suit and Bikini. Now, if you have a bikini and wet suit, don’t you need a towel? Of course you do silly, which is exactly why I had to purchase the American Girl – Beach Towel for Kailey.
For the remainder of this review I will be referring to this as a beach towel…
~ My, what a cute towel your doll has! ~
What can I say? I have always been the sucker for a cute accessory! So, when I saw this beach towel for Kailey, I new that it would be the perfect accessory for Kailey’s wet suit & bikini. Plus, given the fact that it was only $6.00, oh, and… it matched her bikini, what other choice did I have?
This beach towel has the same texture and weight like many of the numerous beach towels we have lying around our house. (Trust me; we have a lot of them around here!) While it isn’t the plushest of plushest beach towels, it does have some thickness to it but more importantly, it is soft to the touch. It measures in at approximately 15 ½ inches by 11 ½ inches. It seems to be just the right size for Kailey to sit on, lay down on, wrap around her, or… even be covered up just in case she is getting bit too much sun! I have even seen my daughter use it as a blanket on Kailey’s bed. When folded up, it fits quite nicely in the zipped pocket of Kaiely's Boogie Board.
I love the fact that it really does have the “look” of a beach towel. The background color of this beach towel is purple. There are three large flowers on one half of this towel in the colors or white, a darker purple and then two have an orange center while the other flower has a lime green center. (You may get a better visual of this by looking at the photo image above.) One the other half of this towel is a stripe (white, lime green & dark purple) going from one side of the towel to the other. Inside this stripe you will fine the name “American Girl” written in purple lettering on the lime green stripe with a bright orange stripe on either side. It is very cute!
What if this beach towel gets dirty? No problem. There is a small tag located on the back side of this towel that states “Hand wash separately in cold water. Line dry.” While I have not had the need to wash our beach towel yet, I have no worries that it would clean up easily and still look good.
~ What about the company American Girl? ~
Over the course of the past several years I have made quite a few purchases from American Girl. I have placed telephone orders, catalog (mail) orders, internet orders, and… have even made purchases at the American Girl Place in Chicago. Either way I have made these purchases I have found the service to be very good.
The same holds true for the product itself. I have found the vast majority of these items to be well made and have held up nicely with repeated play time. This beach towel is no different. And, I know that this might sound a bit silly, but the packaging of their items is done quite nicely.

If you’ve ever read any of my other American Girl product reviews, you already know that both my daughter and I love their products. The same holds true for this American Girl – Beach Towel for Kailey. My daughter loves it and so do I. The quality of this beach towel is great, my daughter has found multi-uses for it and… it is so darn cute! I would definitely have to say that it was worth the $6.00 we spent for it and would highly recommend it.
