Pros: Complex earthy flavor, unique
Cons: ...are those guys that swindle you out of money.
The Bottom Line: My glass is empty and it's time to go to bed. As for the beer, just read on and enjoy a glass sometime.

| CPUENGR's Full Review: Anchor Steam Beer |
We are creatures of habit. We enjoy doing things the same; it's safe and comforting. Yet, once in a while we must break away and mix things up. Some of us do so more than others. I, for instance, like many of my colleagues that enjoy contributing to this genre of reviews, refuse to sit down with the same thing every time we pour a beer. We strive to find something new every time we journey to the market on a quest for a fine brew. Often, we search for the most obscure beers, barely known by anyone. However, sometimes, great variety is readily available.
Such a brew is Anchor Steam Beer. I had heard many great things about it and I kept Anchor Steam on my list of 'soon-to-trys'. I was a bit skeptical, though...I found it in nearly every store in town that believes in carrying anything more than Bud. I knew, though, that the beer lovers whose reviews I read and trust could not be wrong. I picked some up and wondered what I would think...
The Beer
Anchor Steam Beer pours a rich color that is a few shades of dark brown beyond amber. A thick foamy tan head reaches the top of the glass and takes its time to fade away. Earthy malt tones are evident even as I pour. As you drink, you are rushed with a complex and seemingly unique flavor. Robust malts leave a grassy essence on your palate. A tart citrus feel is imparted by the otherwise quiet hops.
Overall
Anchor Steam Beer is certainly a one of a kind gem hiding in plain sight. This fine brew has a robust flavor comprised of complex earthy tones balanced by the tang of citrus. I would certainly enjoy this beer anytime. It could warm in the winter and quench in the summer. However, I enjoy its grassy undertones most in spring, the season during which I most love nature. Enjoy it
to me, it is like my green tea for the evening.
