It takes a little while to get used to the differences, but no, it's not overly complicated. Let me know what you think if you start playing!

...and I like that this doesn't seem as cut and dry as Risk without being too overly complicated. I'll definitely have to check this out as soon as I get time to play games again. Thanks so much for the heads up! You did great on the KIFM leg of your tour. ;-)

I have the old MB version, but they are putting out a new version now, "Axis and Allies, Revised". It looks pretty cool - they didn't add the Marines that are in the video game, but they did add Destroyers and Artillery. There are also A&A Europe, A&A Pacific and A&A D-Day out. I would love to try them, but I can't afford $40 a piece for the games - particularly when it's so hard to get enough players now!

Awesome game. Played it all the time as back in the eighties with my brother. back then it was put out by Milton Bradley, I think. The only drawback was setting up all the pieces, though that was by no means as onerous a task it was for AH's old strategy board games. Nice that you could have so many players,too.
