| MsArriana's Full Review: Avon Therapeutic Advanced Moisturizing Foot Cream |
A couple weeks ago I made a guilt purchase of Avon Advanced Moisturizing Foot Cream. When I say guilt purchase, what I mean is that I am not generally a big fan of Avon. However, every now and then a friend who happens to sell it hits me up and I don't have the heart to say no. So, while looking through the book, I found this cream that was reasonably priced and figured it was something I could actually use as well. I have had problems with rough dry skin on my feet for as long as I can remember so I figured this was something that definitely wouldn't go to waste.
The first thing I noticed about this lotion is that it has a rather unique smell. It isn't at all a medicine smell but rather a very faint peppermint aroma. I am not a person who likes really smelly lotions and sprays so this was great to me. The aroma is just strong enough to add a pleasant smell to the feet but not so overpowering that it becomes nauseating.
This is a mineral oil and Petrolatum based lotion so it is very thick. It comes out of the tube and stays formed on the palm of my hand. This is another bonus for me because there is nothing I hate more then lotions that come out of the bottle and run all over the place because they are about as thick as water.
The first night I used this product I learned a valuable lesson. One need only use a VERY little bit of this lotion. How did I learn this you might wonder? Well, I opened the tube and poured a generous amount in to my hand. Using my prior experiences with foot creams, I figured I would end up using half the tube in one sitting. I could not have been more wrong. What resulted due to my error was me sitting there for about 25 minutes attempting to rub this lotion in all the way. It seemed like no matter how much I rubbed, it just wouldn't soak in. I finally got a towel and wiped the remaining lotion off. Since then I have been only using about dime sized portion each night.
As far as lasting affects, I have no complaints. The lotion leaves my feet feeling soft and moist hours after it is put on. The peppermint also gives my feet a rather invigorated feeling and takes away any soreness from a long day. I make a point of not putting this lotion on until just before bed because if it is put on in the morning it would surely make my feet feel sticky and uncomfortable when put in to socks. Putting it on at night has done wonders. I go to bed with incredibly soft and relaxed feet. When I wake up in the morning my feet still feel soft, but not wet or sticky.
There is only one complaint I have with this product. It states on the bottle that it is also an exfoliator. I have not seen this. In all honesty though, I don't have cracks and lots of dead skin on my feet so there may not be much there to exfoliate. The down side to this lotion is that I do have to put it on every night to maintain the softness and moisturized feeling. This isn't one of those products that produces results that last for days. This small task is well worth it to me for the outcome I am aiming for; soft, relaxed, moisturized feet.
