dannyzmom's Full Review: Babybjörn Original Baby Carrier
Most mothers only have two hands...most mothers need at least three, preferably four.
The Baby Bjorn Carrier provides mothers with a way to hold their babies close to their bodies, safely, and still have the freedom to use both of their hands to push a shopping cart, fold laundry, set the dinner table, do any number of things.
It is a little challenging to maneuver the first few times you use the Baby Bjorn Carrier, but once you get the hang of it, you can put it on and put the baby safely in it in a matter of seconds. You can face the baby towards you, so s/he can rest his/her head on your chest and snuggle in, or you can face the baby outward for a stimulating view of the world.
It grows with your child (or you for that matter, but I'll address that momentarily), as you can adjust the snaps and straps as your child grows. It can fit a petite female and a large male, just with some minor adjustments of the straps...so that both Mommy and Daddy can use it comfortably.
Babies inevitably spit up and/or have diaper accidents. No problem - just wipe the Baby Bjorn down with a damp cloth or toss it in a cold wash and hang it to dry.
The Baby Bjorn Carrier is available in a number of colors and designs to accomodate just about anyone's tastes. And they recently came out with a leather version! (Don't ask me how that can be comfortable, sounds a bit icky to me).
There was a recall a few years ago because small babies were falling through the leg holes. But the company has since offered an adjusting piece to add to the leg holes to prevent this from happening. And the newer models have been redesigned. So, if your Bjorn was purchase before 1999, be sure to call the company and order the adjusting piece.
Strollers are wonderful, and I could not have lived without mine. But there were some times walking through the malls when my son was fussing and just wanted to be snuggled. All I had to do was pop him into the Baby Bjorn Carrier and he was warm and cuddled and comforted. It's a wonderful product.
