Tonight has got to have been, by far, the worst night of my life and my wife's life.

We are parents of a beautiful 6 week old baby girl named Isabella Sophia. Like every other baby...she's cranky, hungry, angry, sleepy, hungry, angry, cranky...I'm sure you know what I mean by now. I don't want people to think that I'm going to write a negative review about this product because this product has worked wonders for our daughter. It works within minutes to calm "Izzy". There are times in where she did have regular bowel movements but as soon as we started giving her this stuff she began to go regularly and passes gas often (from both orifices). The method that we were feeding her the gripe water...the plastic syringe that came included with the gripe water.

Tonight is the last time that we ever feed Izzy the gripe water using that plastic syringe (it is currently rotting away in the garbage). Tonight was when we experienced one of the freakiest moments in ANY parents life.

It was about 1AM and Izzy was acting like any baby does when they're angry and hungry. She was fussy and waving her arms like a bat out of hell. My wife breast fed her and she seemed to have calmed down but after 15 minutes of her feed she began to fuss again. We decided to give her some of the gripe water like we normally did. At the time we didn't think of feeding it to her through a bottle or any other method. We began feeding her the gripe water through the syringe. This particular time she was acting fussier than usual. Normally the feeling of the syringe and the taste of the gripe water calmed her down and she would take it with the greatest of ease but tonight she was extremely fussy.

At one moment...my wife gently squeezed the syringe into Izzy's mouth while Izzy was inhaling to let out another one of her cries. At that moment Izzy began to choke and stopped breathing. I know I'm going to sound very cliché...but the minute that she couldn't breathe felt like an eternity. My wife and I were blowing air in her face. She would react to the feeling and take in air but she wasn't breathing out. She began to foam at the mouth and that's when I ran to my cell phone and dialed 911. My wife put her on the floor and began pushing on her stomach. After a couple of seconds Izzy finally let out a cough, cried slightly, and just laid on the floor looking cuter than ever.

By the time the first officer responded Izzy was being her usual self without the crying and being fussy. The ambulance personal came after a few minutes, looked at Izzy, and told us that if we wanted to take her to the hospital that we could but, in their honest opinion, there was no need to because she was reacting well.

This review might sound like I'm jumping all over the place and I apologize. As a new father...it was the scariest moment of my life and I felt like I had to put this down and document it somewhere to let others out there know and to be careful.

Please note that I am not giving any negative reviews about this product. This product DOES work and it works WELL. Within minutes after drinking it our daughter becomes more docile and we can do the things that we need to do before her feeding (changing diapers, getting boogies out her nose, etc.). There have been times in where she wouldn't have bowel movements for a few hours but once she has this stuff...she's clearing herself out within the hour. I definitely recommend this product for your child but please be careful on how you administer this product to your baby.
