My daughter got this Barbie Fashion Fever Ken doll as an early 7th birthday present. Her birthday is this week but she was given the doll about a month ago by her friend's mom since they were going to be out of town and miss the party. It is no secret to any one who knows Emmily that she has a major love for Fashion Fever Barbie dolls. She has since she was about five years old. So, this gift was sure to be a winner with her.
Description and facts:
The Barbie Fashion Fever Ken doll stands at about 12 inches tall. This is the same size as all other Male gender Barbie dolls. This can be a great thing because this doll can fit other male Barbie clothing and they too can fit his as well. The Barbie Fashion Fever Ken doll wears a gray colored turtle neck with a fold over collar, and over that he has a blue based vest with silver and black stripes through out. His pants are dark denim. He comes with shoes and a brush. The brush is for his hair. He has Barbie like hair not plastic like other Ken dolls some times have. His hair is blond and eyes are blue. He has a combed to the side hair style, very simple but stylish too.
This doll can be moved and/or posed at the head, arms and legs. It is very easy to sit him down, position him how you want him or place him on a doll stand. If you buy a doll stand to display this doll it must be one that holds a 11-13 inch doll. This doll can fit in to Barbie vehicles such as cars, buses or boats for Barbie. He can fit in to any Barbie sized furniture and houses as well making for better play range.
Age recommendation:
The age recommendation on this Barbie Fashion Fever Ken doll is one that I would seriously follow and recommend you to follow as well. The age recommendation is that this doll is for children who are over the age of five years old. This is due in part to the fact that the small parts such as the shoes, brush and the plastic ties that hold Ken in the box are very small. Any and all of these small items can form a choking hazard for a younger child should they place them in to their mouth.

My daughter does get a lot of use from this Barbie Fashion Fever Ken doll. It is one of her favorite male gender Barbie dolls so far. She has a hand full of them but hardly any compared to the females so it was nice to get another male as a change. She places him in cars, pools, and houses meant for her Barbie dolls. She does like to keep him on her Barbie Fashion Fever display shelf a lot. This doll is one that my nephew chooses when they play while he is sleeping over. He likes that she has male dolls so he can better get in to the role play as well. So all in all, this doll does get a lot of use already in the short time that my daughter has had it.
My recommendation:
This doll is very cute. He is dressed in style and fits other male doll clothing meant for Barbie. Because he is the same size as most other male Barbie dolls the clothing swapping does make for a better play time. I like watching the kids get in to playing with this doll. It has made a nice addition to my daughter's collection. So far there are no flaws with it. This doll has become a favorite of my daughter's. It did make a great and thoughtful gift. I am guessing it cost about $15-$20.00 because that is what they often go for in the stores. I honestly never saw this exact one until my daughter had it given to her. My daughter has a blast with this doll and likes it a lot, so I would recommend this doll.
