Pros: The scent and the moisturizing factor
Cons: Quite expensive, "special" scents usually disappear after a while
The Bottom Line: The Signature Collections lotion is a great brand to try; the new Irresistible Apple scent is just icing on the cake! I strongly recommend checking it out.

So I'm a sucker for Bath and Body Works. I think I have at least six or seven different types of Signature Collection lotions that I've purchased within the past year and I love them all. My favorites are always the new fall scents that come out, and the new Irresistible Apple is another smash hit in my book.
The Signature Collection lotions are the ones we're most familiar with - Black Raspberry Vanilla, Warm Vanilla Sugar, Mango Mandarin, Moonlight Path, etc. etc. If you used to frequent Bath and Body Works back in the day when they had the traditional Country Apple, Juniper Breeze, and Plumeria just to name a few, you'd know that the Signature Collection consists of some pretty nice fragrances that hardly ever disappoint. Like most people, some prefer certain scents over others - I have a friend who says, "I hate smelling like food! I'd rather smell like flowers," while I prefer to lather myself in apple, pumpkin, and coconut over Cotton Blossom any day.
Even though I prefer buying generic brands over name brands, I almost always choose the Bath and Body Works lotions over others for a few reasons. I must confess that I own a Suave lotion, and even though you get a lot more lotion for a less amount of money, I was not impressed with its scent, nor was I content with how it moisturized. When I compare Irresistible Apple to different brands of lotions, I find that:
1. Irresistible Apple fulfills its standards in terms of a new, unique scent. It has the slight aroma of Country Apple but it seems to be blended with a sweeter, flowery type of smell. When Bath and Body Works is consistently coming out with new smells, where else are you going to find something that smells like this? I love how they always come out with new, different scents.
2. The lotion is not watery and slimy, nor is it too thick and sticky. I've found that cheaper lotions seem to be more viscous and take forever to soak into the skin. Irresistible Apple is just right. I have to confess that I use this lotion mostly on my hands and legs, and if I am committed enough to remember to moisturize daily, I hardly ever have a problem with dry skin.
2a. This is especially important, ladies, in the wintertime. We don't shave our legs as much, and we always wear long pants or stalkings. I don't know about you, but I get an ugly, dry heat rash from this! I use lotions like this all the time to moisturize my skin and it works perfectly in preventing the dry rash. Naturally, cheaper lotions can do this as well, but I just love how the Signature Collection smells!
2b. As a graduate student, I work in the lab a lot, which means that I wear latex gloves every single day. This does a number to my hands - at the end of the day they're extremely dry and my cuticles are pretty much screaming for moisture. A dab of Irresistible Apple solves the problem in an instant, and if I need more, I just lather it on. Jeez, I sound like a commercial...but seriously, the pleasant smell not only gets rid of the rubber smell, but it also really does restore moisture to my dry hands.
One more thing - obviously try a sample before you buy it. The lotion smells completely different when it's actually rubbed into the skin. When I smelled Irresistible Apple, it really does smell like a very sweet apple. However, after I put it on my skin, as I said before, it's like a mix of apple scent and a flowery perfume. I'm not disappointed one bit, though - I actually liked the scent even better once applied.
Unfortunately with Bath and Body Works, sometimes they come out with a seasonal lotion and then it is discontinued later on. When Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin came back out into stores after five long years, I stockpiled!! I know, how nerdy of me...but I've got two unused lotions sitting in my room. This, however, brings me to my next point - when Bath and Body Works has a "Buy One, Get One" sale or something like that, take advantage of it. Their lotion prices are not cheap - $9.50 for an 8 oz. bottle - so when the time comes to buy in bulk, do it! Right now I believe they're having a "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" sale, so maybe I should go and get three more Irresistible Apples?
If you saw my nightstand, you'd definitely agree that I'm kind of a lotion junkie. I don't like to apply the same lotion, with the same scent, every single day. I like to mix it up and smell like pumpkin one day and apple the next. Therefore, what I like in this review may not appeal to you - maybe you hate apples? The overall performance of the lotion, however, is what counts - and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Walk into a store and try some out! I can't wait until they come out with some more fall scents...
