shellyr's Full Review: Beverly Cleary - Beezus and Ramona
Beatrice (Beezus)and her little sister Ramona don't always get along. Just like many sibblings in the world. It's all those little annoying things that get on yours nerves at any given moment. You know like playing a musical instrument when someone is trying to concentrate in the same room.
It always seems impossible to think that you will ever like your sister when you grow up while you are going through all those childhood moments.
We get a peek into the world of childhood differences and enjoy every minute of it according to my daughter who had read many of Beverly Cleary's books. She is such a good writer that she really keeps the attention of the reader.
You can really feel the emotion when reading one of these books and you can sometimes relate to the story. Did you ever have one child lock another in the bathroom? Or were they ever fighting over something small? (to the thinking of the parental mind) It seems that they are either to close in age or to far apart in age. But really it is just all those stages that they have to make their way through before they come to the place where they can truly love their family all the time. (or most of the time)
