| bops_mom's Full Review: Benefit Fy..Eye |
My Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes was running low and panic was beginning set in. I had to decide what to do. I could buy another Touch Base for Eyes; take the plunge and try BeneFit's F.Y...eye!; or run out and stop wearing eye shadows.
I really enjoy trying new products and had heard great things about BeneFit's F.Y...eye!, so about 6 weeks ago I bought it.
Basic Product Information
BeneFit's F.Y...eye! can be purchased online at www.benefitcosmetics.com ; www.sephora.com ; or at a BeneFit counter near you. My local Macy's has a BeneFit counter, so that is where I purchased my .25 oz. glass jar of BeneFit's F.Y...eye!.
BeneFit's F.Y...eye! is an eye shadow base. That means, it's to be used on the eye lid before any other eye makeup is applied. It's for those who have a hard time keeping their eye makeup from creasing and or from lasting all day.
BeneFit's F.Y...eye! comes in one color; a peachy-nude shade. A little goes a very long way, so the small jar of BeneFit's F.Y...eye! will last you a good while if not applied in excess.
Here's what BeneFit has to say about it:
"Lightly fills in lines on the lids for flawless finish. It's fabulous by itself or as a crease proof base for shadows. Your pretty pinky and a tiny dab blended on lids does it all...
You'll love it!" -- Taken from box
Contains: cyclomethicone, french chalk, filtered mineral oil, nylon-12, natural clay of quaternium-18 hectorite, beeswax, tribehenin, propylene carbonate, silica, peg-4 diheptanoate, emulsifier of sorbitan sesquiolenate, aluminum myristate, emollient of dimethicone, isopropyl titanium trilsostearate, fragrance, anti-bacterial agents of methyl, butyl, ethyl, & propyl parabens, natural white titanium dioxide, ethylene/methacrylate, copolymer, phenoxyethanol, iron oxides.

bops_mom's BeneFit F.Y...eye! Experience
Before BeneFit's F.Y...eye!, the only other product I'd used to keep my eye makeup from fading and creasing was Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes. While these two products are for the same basic purpose, they are very different.
BeneFit's F.Y...eye! blended right into my light skin. While it did smooth out the coloring on my eye lid some, it didn't do it as well as Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes in that you could still see small purple veins on my eye lids. That isn't really a huge issue for me, but may be for some.
I wouldn't wear BeneFit's F.Y...eye! on days I'm not wearing other eye makeup; but I do like wearing Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes with and without any other eye makeup. I'd say this is for two reasons, Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes is thicker than BeneFit's F.Y...eye!, and the colors of Touch Base for Eyes aren't quite as an exact match for my skin.
Application is super easy, just the smallest amount will cover your entire lid (up the brow). I found BeneFit's F.Y...eye! to live up to it's claims as far as keeping eye shadows from creasing and fading as badly as they normally might. I'd rate it right up there with Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes in this area. They both seem equally as good to me in keep eye makeup in place.
In all the times I've used BeneFit's F.Y...eye!, it has only creased on me maybe 2% of the time. This is about the same as Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes. Some days, no matter what I put on my eyes, it's going to crease. *sigh* BeneFit's F.Y...eye! does wear very well, and will last all day (most of the time). If you want your eye makeup to look as good at the end of the day as it does when you first apply it, try BeneFit's F.Y...eye!.
There's no scent to speak of to BeneFit's F.Y...eye!, though the ingredients list says there's some in there. And my super sensitive eyes had no bad reactions to the use of this product.
bops_mom's Recommendation
Personally, I like Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes better as I like that it comes in different shades, is thicker and covers more. However, BeneFit's F.Y...eye! has it's benefits, too. For those not wanting any color in this type of product as well as for those who may have problems with Clinique's Touch Base for Eyes drying out on them -- BeneFit's F.Y...eye! is the perfect product.
Do I recommend BeneFit's F.Y...eye!? Yes! Will I, personally, keep using it? No, at least not for now because I have found and am obsessed with a product that does all of what BeneFit's F.Y...eye! does for me and much more. (MAC Paints - I'd go into this more, but this isn't a review of MAC Paints. And others, without similar coloring to mine, may not have the same results with the MAC Paint I use daily).
Thanks for reading!
