Pros: Great room, cable, whirlpool bath, pool, bed.

The Bottom Line: It was a great stay for me, even though I saw others complaining. I would stay here again.

I was getting out of Indianapolis late, and expected to arrive in Houston sometime around Midnight. After landing, getting my luggage and securing my rental car, I headed for my hotel. Surprisingly, I found the entrance, not on Gulf Freeway, but off Monroe Road, the same road most rental places are on.
Feeling good in my dumb luck, I rang the bell for after-hours service, and was let in the front door by the night manager. I gave him my name and he punched up my reservation. In no time I had a key and was ready to turn in and get some sleep before my early morning.
The room was great. It had a nice firm king bed with three pillows, a couch with coffee table, what looked like a 25" TV with local cable and HBO (at least 57 channels), a mini fridge and microwave, and even a coffee pot. There was also plenty of storage space. This could be a great room for extended stays, as long as you can cook in a microwave.
The bath area was what you would expect, with a twist. It was not very roomy, but the bath did have whirlpool jets, which felt great to me after a hot day in the sun. The sink area had a full mirror and plenty of room.
There is a free continental breakfast, but the selection is slim. There is cereal, toast, muffins, and I think eggs, as well as pastries, coffee and juice. I did not try any of it out, however, because I bought some breakfast at the nearby Wal*Mart and cooked it in the microwave. The seating area is also pretty cramped.
I did hear complaints while I was here. There was one family who reserved a non-smoking room (as did I) and they smelled smoke in their room. Also some businessmen who had a reservation were turned away because they showed up before official check-in time, and their room was not ready. I too had a reservation problem, as I wanted two nights, but was only charged for one initially. But this was really minor to me.
There is even an outdoor pool, but I did not try it out, because I didn't bring anything to swim in. The parking areas are also a little tight, especially for big trucks, which I guess Texas is full of.
If you need to stay in the Houston Hobby area, I suggest checking in here. My stay was pleasant, as was the staff. If I ever come back, I will be staying there again.
