Pros: Ease of use, clean, converts to edger
Cons: More expensive, less powerful than gas models; uses line quickly
The Bottom Line: Have used this 1 year now. As others note, it uses line quickly; lasts only 20-25 min on a charge, but ease of use outweighs these disadvantages in my view.

| JWS4040404's Full Review: Black & Decker Cordless Automatic Feed Trimmer/Edg... |
I recently bought a Black & Decker Cordless Trimmer (Model CST2000 Groundhog)after reading an epinion from another member. I am very pleased with this tool. It is not as powerful as my old gas model, but it really does do the job. Once you get used to moving a little more slowly than you would with a gas or electric trimmer, it works really well. I like the way it can be stored continuously in the charge mode, and the battery does not have a "memory effect." I like the way it easily converts to an edger. The ads say it will do up to 1/2 acre, but that might be a bit of a stretch, based on how much of my own yard it will do before losing power. I think the key here is to keep your expectations in perspective: if you expect something as powerful as a gas or electric model, you'll be disappointed; if you expect the battery charge will last a long time, you won't like it. What is really great, I think, is that you can easily take this off the charging rack and immediately go to work. For example, if you need to do a bit of touch up work, you don't have to worry about changing into your "work" clothes, messing around with gas, or an extension cord. It is much quieter, and of course much cleaner environmentally. I paid about $95 for this model --- more than most gas/electric trimmers, but I think well worth it. Mine is still pretty new, so we need to see now how it holds up over time.
