The PERFECT Bluetooth headset is finally on the market and it's called the *BlueAnt V1*.
Pricey? You bet! Between $89 to $119 as of this writing. Ever heard of a BlueAnt product before? I had not or had I ever seen one worn by someone else until I read a very positive review on CNET.
It comes in at $119.99 retail but you can find it at retailers like Fry's for $89 (when on sale). Or online for the about the same (Amazon.Com is a very safe choice for online). That makes this unknown brand questionable when compared to the very hyped Jawbone 2.
My complaint to date has been that I can't hear the other party well unless I force the earpiece into my ear. The Motorola H12 and H15 were the worst for sound quality but the best for fit and comfort. Yet, volume controls failed miserably and that was a common online review complaint, not just my personal complaint.
The Plantronics 925 Discovery looked like a Star Trek unit and came off the ear with ease so I eliminated it.
The Jawbone 2 just never responded to my commands and was the least overall in performance. I thought it was very overrated. It failed in almost all commands and again, volume issues were a problem when outside.
What the heck was a BlueAnt? CNET rated it one of the very best Bluetooth headsets (http://www.CNET.COM) and that's a trusted source for professional reviews of electronics.
I decided to invest in the BlueAnt V1 and to my surprise, this was indeed the BEST Bluetooth headset to date.
Plus, BlueAnt saw fit to include three (3) chargers. One for the car. One for home. Plus a USB plug so you could charge the headset via your computer. But wait! They then add a USB micro adapter plus as well for those with high-end phones that now utilize micro USB slots. Plus they add FOAM TIPS and COMFORT tips so I can decide which is best and still own backup tips.
Three manuals (quick/detailed/start card) are included as well.
Now...This is an interactive headset. It teaches you commands and you teach it your voice commands. You'll learn 3 major commands first: PAIR ME / TEACH ME / WHAT CAN I SAY. Or itnore that wonderful freature and treat it as you would any Bluetooth headset with button-only controls. If I don't want to use Voice Recognition, it does not require it and makes that my choice.
There are 3 buttons on the unit. One is a press for COMMANDS or functions like answering a call or placing a call. Then there is the BEST volume control buttons ever (2) to take the sound lower or higher. I drive a convertible and with the top down, I can use the V1 with ease! Fantastic...
This also comes wih a two-year USA warranty. Full telephone support here in the USA and a ear hook that you will need to keep it secure. It does feature dual microphone technology so that your party cannot tell you are on a Bluetooth unit.
BlueAnt also sells a car visor hands-free unit as well but I do not own it or have I tested it.
High quality, excellent contents in 'extras' and a good fit. Not a great fit but good enough to make up for all the other perfect features of the V1.
