| sniperxx's Full Review: Bose Wave Radio II |
I've owned my Wave Radio CD for over three (3) years now, and I swear by it! It sits on the head board of my bed, and acts as my alarm clock and a regular time piece.
My wife would sell our 4th child (if we had a 4th child) if someone stole it from us, or it was broken. Out of all of our electronic items, this is by far her favorite!
Bose is know for it's radical approach to home speaker sound and quality. I guess they decided to be the same with their home radios too. This system "carries" music to all parts of your living space. Like I mentioned earlier, I use my radio for my bedroom alarm clock. I have the Acoustic Wave for my bedroom sound system, so my Wave Radio is a "clock radio".
I had the Acoustic Wave in the garage the other day, (spring cleaning) and decided to take a break. I heard Joe Sample blasting from my bedroom. I honestly thought that my wife had confiscated the Acoustic Wave from the garage as soon as I turned my back! As I approached the bedroom, I didn't see the system sitting on the dresser where we normally keep it, so I was kind of at a loss. I then observed the Wave Radio CD panel display indicating that the volume level was at 70.
I have a rather large bedroom, that also has it's own sitting room. I was in the sitting room area when I first heard the music once upstairs, and let me tell you, the sound was awesome!
My wife was just humming along to Joe, never skipping a beat. I asked her did she regularly play the system at that level, and she advised me that she would rather play the Wave than the Acoustic Wave. I inquired as to why, and she stated that..."the Wave sends out the sound that is pleasing to my hearing needs. Not to loud, and not at all to soft.I don't have to be blasted out by the big (Acoustic Wave) radio if I don't want to."
I nodded my head in understanding, and went back to the garage, and blew the neighbors doors off!
All in all, in our opinion, the Bose Wave Radio CD does what it is intended to do. Play excellent music for it's listeners. You don't have to give up excellent sound because you need something small. This system will enlighten up your entire listening area, small or large. And it also has the slim line remote controller, a nifty little do-dad that comes in handy when you get into that lazy mode!
