I have been getting into lifting quite a bit lately and have worked out everywhere recently, and whether it be home equipment or that of a fitness center, I have seen little that can compare with the Bowflex Power Pro. One of my good friends bought this machine about a month ago and we have been religiously using it ever since. It has many attributes and no noticeable drawbacks from my perspective.
First of all, the concept of this machine is based upon "power rods". This system is very unique and interesting to me. These "rods" are actually cords that are hooked up to the pulley system of the machine. These cords provide resistance which comes in varying levels. A person can choose between five pounds of resistance up to 210 pounds of resistance. This type of training is a bit more difficult than free weights and a person may find that they can lift 210 pounds easily in the gym, while they may not be able to pull nearly that amount on the Power Pro. This fact makes it so that even the most experienced and massive lifters can get a benefit out of the machine.
There are almost seventy exercises that can be done on this machine, which work on just about every area of the body. Personally, I can get an intense full body workout in about two hours with this machine. This certainly cuts my time in half at least compared to what I would normally spend at the gym. Most basic exercises are possible with this machine and beginners should have no problem learning new ones. The basic curl, press and pulldown can all be done with the Power Pro. Furthermore, there is also a sliding seat that can be implemented by the user to allow for rowing exercises.
Another great feature about this machine is the fact that it comes with an instruction manual and booklet that explain how to accomplish a quality full body workout. The booklet, if followed, will explain the proper procedures for every exercise.
Overall, I would recommend this machine to everyone. Personally, in one month's time I have already seen results and have become even more of a stallion than I already was.(yes, I'm a bit cocky) It is a bit pricey but I have found the benefits to overshadow the cost.
