Mixed feelings on Bowling Party Stacie

I purchased this doll for my daughter as a Valentines present. She had seen it at the store and had shown a real interest in the doll. I thought the doll was cute and the concept of her bowling was new and different.
As far as the doll itself, Stacie looks really cute with her blonde braids and her trendy, colorful clothes. She is a perfect size for a small child and a perfect addition for a Barbie collectors collection. I was, however not as impressed with the bowling part of this item.
The ball sparkles and is attractive to children but you have to line the magnet on Stacie's hand and on the ball up just right for Stacie to be able to hold this. My daughter needed help pulling her arm back and pushing the button on the back so the ball would be released to roll down the bowling lane. This makes me think that other children might have a hard time as well.
The bowling lane is a green blow up item with a piece of card board that lays on the bottom to form the lane and show where the pins are to stand. It does pretty well, but has to be reinflated periodically. This can be a pain at times and often times seems like more effort than it is worth because my daughter often got frustrated trying to get Stacie ready to bowl and setting up the pins. She was ready to move on to something else within a matter of minutes it seemed.
I agree with others assessments that the ball could be a choking hazard as well as the bowling pins. I would not recommend this for children who are still putting alot of things in their mouths.
I will have to say that my daughter does play with Stacie. She uses her as a regular type doll with her other Barbies. I should have just bought a plain Stacie doll without all the bowling stuff. This is why I have mixed emotions. She likes the doll but only occasionally does she bowl with it. I recommend that you just get a Stacie doll and let their imaginations go wild.
