| 2buzy's Full Review: Braun Oral B 3d Excel Plaque Remover D17535 |
We have tried a lot of different toothbrushes and have finally settled on two ~ the crest spinbrush when we travel (and at Grandmas) and the Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535 at home, which this review is on.
FEATURES
When you buy a Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535, every thing comes together in one box. Mine was a bonus package and came with a Venus razor.
3 brush heads
There are three different brush heads so three people can use the same unit. Each one has a different color band (blue, green and yellow)so that you can tell them apart.
The brushes have "indicator" bristles that let you know when it is time to replace them. The blue color slowly disappears (half way down) within 3-4 months of 2 times daily brushing.
The brushes are stored upside down so the colored bands are visible, making sure you don't grab the wrong brush!
Handle
This is where you connect the brush heads to make the complete toothbrush. The brush heads are very easy to put on and take off.
The Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535 handle has one switch which is used by pushing it in. When the switch is pressed once, it operates on normal speed, press it a second time and it goes to the slower speed. A third push will turn it off.
After two minutes of use (the minimum time we SHOULD brush)a timer will give a signal by a short pause in the brushing.
There is a charging indicator light in the front on the front of the handle which is green when on.
Charging Unit
The charging unit is where the handle is kept and of course charged.
The Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535 charging unit also holds the brush heads in a covered area behind the handle. It actually holds up to four different handles so, if you are a family of four, you could buy a set of replacement brushes and all use the same unit.
The charging unit is plugged into a electrical outlet with a full charge taking 16 hours. Each full charge is said to last through 45 minutes of unplugged use. I can't say if this is true or not since we just leave ours plugged in. Overcharging the unit is impossible.
Braun suggest (every 6 months) that you unplug the charging unit and just let the unit run all the way down through regular use. Then, plug back in for 16 hours to fully recharge.
Wall holder
You can use the enclosed wall holder to hang the Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535 on the wall. It is easy to put up and everything comes in the box.
CLEANING THE TOOTHBRUSH
There isn't a lot of cleaning required which of course is true with all toothbrushes!
The brush heads should be put back under running water while running on the normal speed. This should be done after you brush and for several seconds. You then need to remove it off the handle and shake once over the sink before placing it in the brush head holder. This compartment is removable so you can easily rinse and/or clean it.
The charging unit will sometimes get water dripping onto the base where the unit sits. This can be easily wiped off. The whole unit should be cleaned off with a damp cloth occasionally.

~~ ** ~~ ** ~~ 2BUZY'S FINAL THOUGHTS ~~ ** ~~ ** ~~
My family loves the Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535! It does a wonderful job in cleaning our teeth. The first time my daughter used it, she said her teeth felt like glass, and months later, she complains on how they feel when having to use a different type brush.
We never had "bad" reports from the dentist but they noticed the plaque level had gone down after switching over to this brush. Since the kids can "feel" the difference after brushing, they seem to spend more time brushing ~ and this is a VERY good thing!
I found my Braun Oral B 3D Excel Plaque Remover D17535 at Target when they were on clearance for only $19.99. I was able to use the $10.00 rebate, so it was an excellent deal! I bought two at that time and really wish I had bought another since I had to pay over $60 for my third one ~ but even at that price, it is worth it!
