| Prncess's Full Review: Brita Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle |
Since having my baby in January I have been on a quest to lose weight. Part of changing my lifestyle for the better included drinking more water. I have always liked water but hated the chlorine taste that comes from the faucet. And, when we moved into an older home, I was suspicious of what was coming through the pipes.
We went through a time when we had a Culligan man come out. That got to be pricey. So, I got a Brita pitcher. Usually I fill up a huge mug I got from my last hospital stay and off I go. One disadvantage to that is that the mug is SO wide and heavy.
Recently I ran into the newer Brita water bottles. I thought to myself, what a great idea!
There are plenty of pluses to this product:
Skinny bottle that fits into most standard car cup holders
Water gets filtered as it goes. You can take this with you anywhere there is a water fountain and fill it there and not have to worry about the taste of the water (or the quality). This would be perfect for work or the gym.
The bottle is pretty easy to clean by handI threw away my product insert so I cannot recall if this is dishwasher safe or not. However, you can get a baby bottle cleaning brush and use that with a little soap and water to clean the bottle.
What I do not like about this bottle:
I am not sure why but the water tastes odd to me. I prefer the pitcher water.
The price I paid around $ 7.00 for my bottle which may not seem like a lot but compared to the pitchers (which run between $ 15.00 and
$ 20.00), this is a bit more costly.
About the bottle:
This bottle is made of a plastic material. The lid is navy blue (twists on and off) and has a white spout that pops up to open and down to close (it is spill-proof).
The bottom of the bottle is contoured in shape which might be a negative when cleaning the bottle.
My bottle came with a filter and the typical instructions (which were easy to understand; I simply had to run water through the lid which connects to a mini-filter, before actually drinking from the bottle).
This bottle has many pluses but I have not used mine but once. I prefer gulping water rather then trying to suck it through a spout. I may end up selling it in my garage sale.
Even so, I think this is another one of those products that some may like for convenience sake.
