Where can you find this in stock now? (Reply to this comment)
by bonniesayers
Is this currently available anywhere without being on a waiting list for months?
I did not get that much personal experience on this, how long have you had this and how difficult was it to get into the vehicle, or should I say for the average parent with limited experience?
I waited for a long time for the Elite and then they stopped them and now this one and still waiting lists all over and how do I know by the time this one is available there is not another one being made the following month?
I have a 85 Plymouth Voyager with only lap belts and no shoulder, my son is almost fifty pounds, six years old and autistic, this is the only one for him, if we could just find it..
Any idea how much shipping costs on this extra large item?
Thanks for any insight you can offer.
Happy Thanksgiving

Fantastic job here on this Britax Husky child restraint system. It sounds like a very safe choice :-)

I found mine at a small local baby store. They had a couple in stock. I don't know if they mail order, but feel free to email me at the address in my profile and I will send you the information. I also have Chrysler part numbers for a shoulder belt retrofit in the 84-90 Plymouth Voyager if you are interested.
I have also heard that some Right Start and Baby's Room stores have them in stock. Babycatalog.com also had a good price ($229 $10 shipping) and was in stock a little while ago though I haven't checked recently.
I have only had mine a day, though I have installed a number of Super Elites in other vehicles. I would say that installation is typical with both LATCH and seatbelts for the average parent. You will probably need to put your weight into it and wiggle it to get it as tight as possible. It took me about 15 minutes once I had read the manual and adjusted the harness straps to the right slots, but again I had some experience with this model already. I have read other experiences from parents that installed it easily, and some that couldn't get it to fit well at all after repeated attempts. Many of those with problems were using LATCH and were trying to tighten the straps as shown in the manual rather than pulling them backward throught the belt routing slots which seems to allow for a tighter fit....
Good luck, and happy holidays!

I received in the mail today the information and labels pertaining to the changes in the LAP ONLY installation.
I have added that information in my review of this seat.
