elzora's Full Review: Burt's Bees Burts Bees Herbal Blemish Stick
Natural vs. Synthetic
When I have the choice, I would rather use an all natural product instead of one that is filled with petrochemicals and synthetic ingredients. I know that some natural products aren't healthy ... (Poison Ivy is natural, but I don't want it in my cosmetics!), but I believe that Burt's Bee's makes a fine line of natural products, and this Blemish Stick is one of them.
My Birthday Gift
I will tell you up front, that I didn't buy this blemish stick. For my birthday, my best friend gave me a kit with an assortment of ten Burt's Bees products in it, and this blemish stick was one of them. I occasionally have a break out, but my teenager struggles with this more than I do, so I gave it to her to try. She was just as pleased with it as she was the chemical laden products she had been using. I haven't seen it since she confiscated it!
Packaging
Burt's Bee's Blemish Stick comes in a, well stick (just as the name says, imagine that!). It is small, only .30 ounces, and contains a liquid with a roll on tip. It is very easy to apply without getting it on your hands. The bottle is glass, I assume because one of the key ingredients ("Tea Tree Oil") is supposed to be kept in a glass container.
Ingredients
The ingredients in the Blemish Stick are great for your skin: calendula extract, borage extract, yarrow extract, parsley extract, willowbark extract, lemon oil, fennel oil, water, tea tree oil, juniper oil, and eucalyptus oil. Just dab it on the acne breakouts, and in a couple days you will really notice some improvements!
Tea Tree Oil is well known for it's healing properties, as well as several of the other ingredients. It can also be very drying to the skin, so you need to experiment with this product and see how your skin reacts to it. If you experience excessive dryness, don't use it quite as often.
The Smell is Not Medicine Like!
Some blemish sticks really smell bad - like alcohol. This blemish stick's smell is not offensive, it smells like an mixture of herbs and eucalyptus, and it is 99.90 % pure!! What a find! I can't wait for the rest of Burt's Bees products to come to epinions so I can review them all!
Conclusion
If you prefer all natural products, give the Burt's Bee's products a try. I have many of them, and like each and every one! AND, Burt's Bee's does NOT test on animals! This is very important to me!
