I have had my CSW Microworks for 2 years now-if you are serious about audio, and work or play on your computer extensively, these are the speakers for you. I have used cheap $5 speakers, inexpensive $25 speakers, and the smaller PC Works CSW speaker set, and the difference is phenomenal. Just like switching from dial-up modem to DSL connectivity, there is NO GOING BACK!
The Subwoofer produces clean, deep bass, is adjustable, and gives enough boom to deep drums and explosions alike. The satellites have clear, pleasant sound; together, this set can be cranked up loud and sounds great! The marketing is no lie, these speakers are likely to sound as good or better than your home stereo set! Make sure you have a good sound card for maximum enjoyment of your speakers.
Games envelop me, and when I am feeling creative I hook my effects processors and music keyboards up to the Microworks and they sound great as monitors for my digital recording lab! There is an adjustable bass control on the subwoofer, and TWO inputs for sound. Use one input for your computer, and plug something else (walkman, guitar, keyboard?) into the other 1/8" input. There is an extra volume control built into the extended/double cord which you can put on your desk; convenient.
You can get these speakers for less than the $250 I paid for them 2 years ago, but they are still worth EVERY PENNY I paid. I had no regrets after hooking these quality speakers up and hearing the subtle nuances of the electronic music I work on from time to time. Buy them, and enjoy!
