I read reviews in here about this printer so I thought I would return and give my thoughts on this printer after buying it. I bought this printer for $172.00 with a $20.00 rebate. The good points about this printer are very sharp and rich colors for your photos. I have tried different paper and I prefer the soft gloss and at least 10 mil weight. The matte paper I used in my old printer which I liked did not turn out good results. The ink cartridges take some getting use too with 6 different ones to look at. They blink when getting low and then when they run out it will not print until you give an ok. The pm seems to run out quick, followed by Yellow, pc then M. The other two seen to go a long time. I hope in time the cost of the ink will come down a little too. I have bought some ink on Ebay, buy.com and amazon. If you keep looking you can find free shipping which helps with the cost of the ink a little. The software that comes with the printer is not the greatest in my opinion. One thing it does not give you is an option for 4x6 sheets which I like, although 4x6 can print as a single from the printer. I use the software from my old printer which I think is better. I tried printing direct from the printer, but my best results are when I download them in to the computer and work with them a little. When I was getting started I had the picture setting set for best print, but over time I found out by using standard picture settings the colors were more life like to me. Best print made the cloths etc look way to colorful, not natural. The bottom tray will not hold a full sheet of paper so if you want paper ready to go it has to be left in the top loader. Compared to my old H.P 920 this prints quality photos very fast. Over all am pleased with this printer.
