Pros: Relatively inexpensive, clean, shopping district, breakfast is a bargain
Cons: Not for the person who needs a lot of space.
The Bottom Line: If you can manage with a tiny room, the quality of the customer service, the furnishings, and the location are a good deal.

| alindleyk's Full Review: Center Hotel Klopp |
We stayed at the Hotel Klopp for two nights before we continued our vacation in England, since friends had said that Iceland was very interesting.
Overall, our experience at Klopp was positive and I would recommend it as a fairly inexpensive, clean hotel in the downtown shopping area. It was within easy walking distance of a number of interesting secondhand stores (full of quirky American pop culture stuff), big label fashion stores, bars, bakeries, coffee shops, and restaurants both plain and fancy.
One thing that impressed me right away was that the hotel staff were very responsive to our needs. We arrived from the airport at about 9:30 AM, which is much earlier than most hotels will let you check in, but they found us a room that was ready immediately.
They also offered us the breakfast buffet for $12 as soon as we arrived. The breakfast is free if you are staying at the hotel the night before. When my husband pointed out, though, that we wouldn't be getting our free breakfast on our last morning there (because we had to leave for the airport too early) they cheerfully agreed we could have our final day's free breakfast right away for no cost!
Our room was small, possibly the smallest hotel room I've ever been in. A double bed and a chair and table, and a few spare inches to turn around. The shower was literally inches from the toilet with no real divider, just a curtain hanging from the ceiling. However, the room was clean, the bathroom facilities worked great, so we had no complaints.
The hotel provided free internet access from a stand-up kiosk, which was probably intended to keep your time on it short, but that was fine with me.
The free breakfast buffet was much better than I expected. Some of the foods were a little strange to the US palate (raw fish in tomato sauce?) but there was plenty there for a less adventurous eater: muesli, yogurt, pastries, whole wheat bread, hard boiled eggs, cheese and salami. After we had eaten in some Iceland restaurants I began to realize that our free breakfast buffet was an amazing bargain, since a simple sandwich/soup lunch in a bookstore cafe could cost $25.
The hotel staff was very helpful and spoke perfect English. They made a lot of phone calls for us make sure that the tours we had signed up for would come to the hotel to pick us up, as well as an airport shuttle.
