A little about myself...I work in an I.T. Department. I do all the purchasing for 100 PC's, I do work with the telephone switch, and I do network administration work..
I've had nothing but problems with every Compaq computer I've run into whether it's a PC or a notebook. I have an E500 laptop with a 600 MHz processor, and 128 MB of memory installed in it. The performance is equal to a Pentium 166 and the hard drive's performance is so slow it sounds like your overworking the thing. It takes a disturbing amount of time to boot up and shut down compared to other PC's and it's way over priced for what you get. Not to mention the fact that any type of upgrade you do to the operating system like a patch, you have to go to their website and download the new drivers for it and install them. Why is it that Compaq is about the only company that sells a computer that needs it's drivers reinstalled every time you do something with the operating system before the thing blows up? I'd rather face the dell laptop right now rather then allowing a Compaq laptop making me look bad.
My recommendation is to stay from any Compaq laptop if you can. There are many other cheaper and better options out there, just take the time and look. Thank You
