The Bottom Line: Goes on smoothly and stays waterproof, yet removes easily with soap and water - what more could you ask for?

| thessa's Full Review: Cover Girl Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara |
For awhile I had three mascaras in my makeup bin: one that was very smooth but not waterproof, one that was water resistant but able to be removed with waterproof mascara remover, and one that was reserved for serious tear-prone occasions and had to be taken off with heavy-duty remover or cold cream. Then one day I discovered the best of both worlds in Cover Girl Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara.
When I started wearing Cover Girl Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara, I was a contact lens wearer. While the non-waterproof mascaras worked well with my contacts, I hated the raccoon eyes that resulted whenever I cried or perspired. The downside to the waterproof mascaras were that often the makeup remover that was strong enough to remove the mascara would also leave a greasy residue in my lashes and around my eyes wreaked havoc with my contacts. The nice thing about Cover Girl Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara is that it comes off easily with mild soap and water. It also is truly waterproof, though not as strong as products like Cover Girl’s Marathon Mascara.
The product itself comes in a purple tube. Color selections that I’ve seen in the store are two shades of black and black brown. I like the black brown because I think it looks less harsh on most people unless they have black or very dark brown hair. I have not seen a curved wand, and I would prefer that; however the straight wand works just fine. It tapers slightly to the point, and works well to separate lashes. The consistency of the mascara itself is creamy and smooth and goes on quite well with few globs.
The only complaint that I have about this product is that it tends to flake off as fibers. This can irritate contact lens wearers or those with sensitive eyes. Overall, I highly recommend Cover Girl Remarkable Washable Waterproof Mascara for anyone looking for a creamy-smooth waterproof mascara that is not a hassle to remove.
