| maglib's Full Review: Crayola Color Wonder Markers and Paper |
WOW!
Did you ever think that in our lifetime they would create markers that didn't stain?
These are them! They have not stained anything in my home. My 19 month old has managed to color on himself, shirts, walls, the floor.. you name it, he has tried it. Hasn't succeeded with these but, with other markers he surely has.
Not only are they great for non-staining. You can buy paper that are simple coloring books where they can't color outside the lines or you could even buy plain paper where they can let their imaginations run wild.
The markers are non-toxic and are safe for children. They only work on the special expensive Color Wonder paper.
We have been using Color Wonder in my household for about 3 years and my 8 and 6 year old who can be trusted with real markers now still love to play with them. They like the types of coloring books and love the fact that they can't go out of the lines!
They are a great travel companion as you can't stain anything. There is even a travel desk they sell which houses the markers in a pouch!
Durable? Yes. They have lasted longer than my Crayola regular markers but, the do dry out over time especially if you don't close the caps.
The only downsides that I know of are they are expensive to purchase and the paper refills go fast and are small (I believe only 20 or 30 pages a book and you only get 6 markers with the package). There is not a large variety of coloring books out there so we often purchase the same ones (my mistake I tell the kids). My sons go through the $4 coloring book in 1 sitting. I hold these out mostly for travel and always with the 19 month old. Additionally like any markers you can easily lose the caps and they dry out if not closed tightly. Lastly the colors are not true colors (each color is a little off the true bold color, grayish. There is also an odor that these markers have but, they are non-toxic. None of the cons have effected my kids one bit and they absolutely love them.
For the price of this set you could buy 4 times the number of dollar store coloring books and a box of crayola markers. Is it worth it? Would not having to repaint your walls and replace furniture make it worth it to you? Of course.
Great product at a high price. I will say that it's cheaper than painting over and over again though! You got to try them.
I highly recomend and couldn't do without especially when dealing with children under 4.
