I've had this player only two months and am really enjoying it. Its very small and light, produces great sound and is easy to use. The device does have some shortcomings, but overall is a great device.
I thought the Ipod Mini was too cute, I like the retro styling of the Muvo2. The Mini is a little more expensive, doesn't offer FM and must be accessed through special software. The Muvo2 can be used as a USB harddrive with no drivers, you can drag and drop songs onto the player, but to make custom playlists you must use the software. The display of the Muvo2 is fairly small and not backlit, but is easy enough to read.
I did have to pay extra for the case and FM remote, $15 & $50. If you don't want or need FM capability you don't need to spend the extra money. I enjoy radio, so it was an important feature of the player to add that functionality. I believe this and the Samsung Napster are the only large capacity players to even offer FM capability. I think the case or a belt clip should have been included, whatever. The case is a necessity if you want to take the thing running. It is a little odd that you cant access the controls or see the display while the player is in the case.
I have mine hardwired into my car stereo. It sounds great and is very convenient. The output level is very low and the player volume must be turned all the way up. Its only a problem if you forget and put the earphones on without turning the volume back down, ouch! Those FM transmitters don't work if you live in an area with a lot of radio stations, too much interference.
The drag and drop functionality is really nice as I can go to any computer and upload or download music or data. I use the device a lot to bring files back an forth from work to home. USB 2.0 is really fast. No more zip disks.
Battery life is more reasonably around 8hrs than the manufacturer's claim of 14hrs.
All in all a great player!
