I do believe I am the only person at this house who has ever changed out the toilet paper for a new roll. How hard is that? But, my boys do not seem able to master this skill. Or, they pull the little trick of leaving a couple of sheets on the roll so that it runs out when I go in there.
To solve this problem, I thought perhaps a new style of TP holder might make a difference. This European toilet paper holder does not require squeezing the the center piece to get the roll in and out of the two side pieces. It's just as simple as slipping the toilet paper right on the little arm. Whether this is actually how they do it in Europe, I can't say. When I visited, I did not see these simple designs in the restrooms, but I only visited a few over there.
Basically, the Creative Specialties Preston paper holder is a base to hook on the wall and then a hook. Very simple. In fact, it was so simple that I was not sure it would work well and especially with the double and triple toilet paper rolls I favor. Turns out that it works like a charm for any size roll of TP. So, that's terrific.
The builder put this up for me. It would not be hard. Directions are simple. The reason I had it put up during the bathroom remodel is because I had thick tiles put up and do not have the drill to put a hole in tile. I could buy that, but it was cheaper just to have it done while the rest of the bathroom was being redone.
The CS toilet roll holder is easy to clean. It just wipes off. And, it's not bad about showing fingerprints. So, it's very low maintenance.
As far as the boys replacing toilet paper rolls now? Well, I've not seen the holder empty, since we put it in. But, it went in about the middle of the summer. It's in the small bathroom which is not used as often, but it appears that this plan is working. After all, it could not be easier. Just slide it on and that's it.
