Pros: Bright, fast, excellent connectivity, easy adjustment, affordable
Cons: Average at anything but native resolution. Requires "horsepower" for gaming, poor documentation, controls difficult
The Bottom Line: Buy it or the Samsung 244T - darned good for the price.

| sleepr0's Full Review: Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24 in. TV |
The 24" Dell 2407 is as good as it gets in LCD-dom. It's well made and designed, very bright, great for watching DVDs and gaming.
The 2407 (6/6/06 and later) with the A02 firmware is really smart and easy to live with. Adjusting position is fingertip easy thanks to counterbalancing in the stand. Portrait mode makes one TALL display too. The card readers and USB ports are an excellent extra, although the left-sided USB ports would have been better on the right. Portrait mode puts 2 of the 4 ports on the top of the display - pretty silly considering the altitude.
If this id your first LCD, there are some general trade-offs that you should be aware of. These things only look sharp at native resolutions and maybe one other. Anything else produces that "smudged" look. If your display is as big as this, it requires such high resolutions that gaming becomes taxing on the video card.
Also, scaling becomes and issue in widescreens. If your video drivers don't support scaling to non-native resolutions, the display will simply stretch the image horizontally, adding to the "smudging" woes. This display will not allow you to prevent stretching of the image by itself. Your video drivers must do that.
The resolution and scaling issues are not unique to this LCD widesreen, so I give it a 9 of 10 (I don't believe in "10s"). You will not be disappointed in the Dell 2407WFP. I'm happy as a clam.
